Finland,  Rova’s ancient territory

Adira’s POV

I stared, motionless, as the man everyone feared, the savage alpha king Magnus, approached and carefully took his daughter from my arms. I could feel the strength in his hands and the tension in my body, afraid to move as he stepped closer.

Magnus’s stern expression faltered, shifting to confusion as he carefully cradled his daughter. Despite holding her, his amber eyes never left mine, making it impossible to look away or read exactly what he was thinking.

Goddess blessed him; he was a sight to look at, I thought to myself. If only he would smile. His dark, long hair, his stubble, tall and imposing, stop it, Adira, he is married.

The thought stung sharper than I expected. Shame tangled in my chest, warring against that secret thrill at his nearness, and I scolded myself for even noticing. What kind of person lets their heart leap at a man who belongs to someone else?

Still, I couldn't make my eyes behave, couldn't stop the ache in my chest. Pull yourself together, Adira. Remember your place. But my pulse was traitorous. I pressed my lips tight and tried to focus on handing over his daughter, wishing desperately that I could silence the wild hope fluttering in me.

Your name, he asked, showing no emotions whatsoever.

Adira, I said, not breaking the stare. I should’ve had my eyes down for respect of his rank. But I couldn’t help that something inside me was telling me to reach out.

With trembling fingers, I reached out and touched his arm, a bold and forbidden act, considering his position as king. In our pack, only his mate or family could touch him, and anyone else risked punishment. Five guards stepped forward, tense and prepared to intervene, making me realize the gravity of my mistake.

He raised his other hand to stop them.

Your daughter is unharmed, I found her just here by the border, I said

He turned and left.

Rude. You’re welcome, I called after him.

A man walked towards me, and he smiled.

I’m Beta Michael. Thank you for keeping her safe.

Of course, she was searching for her mother.

Yeah, well again, he extended his hand to me. I appreciate it, and alpha too, but right now he has many... let's say unfortunate events happening.

You don’t need to make excuses for him. I do understand. Okay, then I have to go. Bye for now.

I started to walk away, but paused to glance over my shoulder. I saw Michael watching me intently, his posture tense, until the savage king’s voice broke the silence and startled him.

Michael, he shouted. He turned and bolted.

I walked back to the pack. No one will ruin my day. I got into a top university, and my life is about to start. I will be this pack’s doctor, just like I promised my parents.

The weight of that promise settles in my chest. Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of making them proud, of giving back to my family and everyone who gave me a place in this world. Sometimes, it feels like everyone sees the alpha or the powerful bloodlines, but I want to be seen for what I choose to become.

Maybe that’s why, even with everything that happened, I refused to let my mind wander from my goals. The heat of the king's gaze lingered, but I pushed it aside. My future matters more. If nothing else, I owe that to them, and to myself.

Magnus’s POV

The eyes captured me first, big green, such an unusual green. I thought of feline, and spring leaves. Her hair, down to her hips in light brown waves, makes her look so fragile and innocent.

She is holding my daughter in her arms. Diane, my four-year-old, ran after her mother.

I reached for her, and the scent hit me hard, catching me off guard. It was as if summer itself had been bottled: wildflowers after the rain, sun-warmed earth, the soft sweetness of honey drifting on a warm breeze.

The aroma filled my senses, dizzying and golden, and for a second, I forgot everything else. My skin prickled, heat crawling up my arms, and my heartbeat kicked up, thudding hard in my chest.

I swallowed, but the taste lingered at the back of my throat, strange and familiar all at once. Maybe it was all those things, mixed into one intoxicating, impossible scent that pulled at something deep inside me.

Han stirred. My wolf. I thought he was dormant; we barely even talk. He stirred.

As I took Diane in my arms, the scent became even stronger.

She touched my arm, bold, truly, and a jolt shot through me.

Mate, Han said. Ask her to come with us.

What the hell, no, I don’t know her.

Invite her, Han insisted.

Stay out of it.

Your name? I asked

Are you a robot? “ Your name,” Han mocked me.

Shut up Han.

Adira, she said, smiling.

Get closer, Han insists.

I turned and walked away, unsure how to handle any of this.

Han was angry with me. This conversation was more than we had all year.

Her scent is still creeping into my nostrils, and I like it too much.

Rude. “ You’re welcome," she called after me.

I nearly smiled at her remark.

She is right, you’re rude, Han said.

What’s got you going? I asked him

Her scent is familiar. Mate.

Yeah, right, don’t forget I just divorced, not getting involved ever with a woman. What’s the point? Trust shattered too easily, even after so many years.

Sometimes, late at night, my mind still circles that final fight, her accusing eyes, the breaking of something I thought I could never lose. The ache is still there, raw and dangerous, reminding me why it’s better to keep everyone at a distance.

I turned around to see Michael talking to her. The growl came low, almost like my body wasn’t listening to me.

" Told you," Han said. "You keep fighting it."

Michael? I shouted, then he turned and bolted, coming towards me.

You could’ve at least said thank you, Michael said, but don’t worry, I smoothed things over.

Didn’t need to do that; I can handle myself.

No need to be arrogant, she’s just an innocent girl.

I allow Michael to talk to me like that because he is my best friend forever, and he is more than that, like a brother. I rely on him for many things.

Diane, my baby girl, why did you do that? I ignored Michael's comments.

My mommy left me, she said

Your mom had an accident. We will talk about this later. Next time, ask Michael or me if you want to do something.

Daddy, Adira is nice, but you didn’t say thank you.

Great, now my daughter is scolding me too.

Go and get her back, Han said

Leave me alone, I will not. But her scent was all over me, and I couldn’t get her beautiful face out of my mind.

Emily’s POVI closed my eyes, waiting for my death, and had regrets. My children will never be born, and Luca will suffer. Then his scent hit my nostrils. Luca.Camila and Cassandra were screaming in the corner, their eyes wide with terror, huddled together and shaking. They had seen Luca lose control, had witnessed the fury in his eyes, and now they feared what he might do to them after everything. Alpha Magnus rushed to my side, his movements sharp and urgent. Without waiting, he lifted me and carried me swiftly outside.I didn’t have time to ask what had happened or what he planned next. The helicopter landed with a blast of wind, and a team of doctors and two nurses were there, strapping me quickly to the gurney. They cut the silver cuffs from my wrists and, in moments, we were in the air.Alpha Magnus, I reached for his hand. His face was stern and angry. Where is Luca?Don’t worry, he is safe. Now close your eyes and rest. But the worry never left me. If he lost control, then he

Luca’s POVI was holding her hand so tight; she chuckled. My palms were sweaty, my heart pounding in my chest, and I could barely keep still from the rush of nerves and excitement. My mom was doing the ultrasound; we would finally find out the baby’s gender. I kept glancing at Emily, searching her face for any sign of worry but finding only warmth there. I tried to steady my breathing. No matter what, I knew this child would have all my love—I would love it no matter what, and I reassured her again, needing her to know how much she and our baby meant to me.The heartbeat was fast and loud; we both let out a sigh of relief. Then she turned to us.Are you ready? She said, teasing us.Mom, say it already…It's a boy…I jumped to my feet and let out a howl loud and clear. The pack will know; we had an heir. In our world, the birth of a true heir is more than just a joyful moment for a family—it means safety and prosperity for the entire pack. Tradition runs deep among us; whenever an heir

Luca’s POVI sat on the chair across from Hunder in the dimly lit dungeon. The heavy scent of stone and iron bars surrounded us. Across the gloomy room, the guards stood on either side of the door, waiting for my orders. Hunder hung his head, defeated, wrists shackled to the chair. I fixed him with a cold stare. "Your wife and daughter took all the money and jewelry, but don't worry, we caught up with them. Bring them in," I ordered, and the guards moved to open the door. His face looked surprised. You ran away? He shouted at Camila.Hunder," she laughed. "Did you think I would stick around?"Fucking bitch, he lunged, but the chains stopped him. I watched it unravel without even asking a question.Since we are honest, let me tell you something: your witch wife…she was telling the truth before she died. It was so easy to convince you: a small potion and your brain was fuzzy, raging with jealousy. I watched Hunder’s face as the words settled in, his eyes widening, jaw clenching tight. A

  • SAVAGE ALPHA KING AND THE FATED SERVANT   Congratulations

Luca’s POVLife in the pack had settled back into its usual rhythm. It had been three months since everything changed, and Emily adjusted surprisingly fast. During those months, there was no word from Hunder or Cassandra. For context, Hunder was once a trusted beta before he betrayed us, and Cassandra, his cunning partner, helped him escape when his plans fell apart. I wasn’t holding my breath for peace. I knew better than to trust either of them.Sitting at the office, Hathor walked inside, his face pale.Luca, the spy, sent a message. He paused. Hunder is preparing to attack. I stood up.Okay, pack meeting tonight. I’m sure he has a spy here, and we will proceed with our plan. I walked around the desk and outside looking for Emily. She has been spending most of her time with the pack, and Dahlia followed her everywhere. Dahlia was believed to be her little sister, but no one was entirely sure. There had always been uncertainty because Dahlia had been found with Emily as a baby, but

  • SAVAGE ALPHA KING AND THE FATED SERVANT   The ceremony

Emily’s POVI didn’t even ask what he did to Cassandra, but Luna Adira said she won’t be able to lie on her back for a while. Part of me thought she deserved it, after everything she tried to do, but another part couldn’t help feeling a little uneasy. My mind kept circling the punishment: I wanted to feel satisfied that she finally faced consequences, but satisfaction didn’t come as easily as I’d expected. There was a bitter edge to it, like the taste of something I shouldn't enjoy but couldn't help myself. Guilt prickled at me, sharp and uncomfortable, as I imagined her in pain. I was angry at her; I wanted her to pay for what she tried to do to Luca and to me, but hearing that she suffered made something twist inside me. Was I really any better than her for finding relief in her pain? I told myself it was justice, but the line between justice and revenge felt blurrier now. Still, I hoped this would be the end of it.I was pacing in the room and overthinking everything. I loved Luca.

  • SAVAGE ALPHA KING AND THE FATED SERVANT   Forgiveness

Emily’s POVI looked shocked at him, then at the papers on the dresser. Luca, do you really think I would do this?Answer me, I shouted. Never mind, you just did. My hands trembled as I grabbed my backpack, the anger and heartbreak clawing at my chest. In that moment, memories flashed through my mind—of the night I first arrived, scared but hopeful, of Luca’s arms around me, whispering that I belonged. How could it all fall apart this fast? I shoved my old things in with no care, biting down hard to keep sobs from escaping. What if everyone always suspects me, no matter how much I try to prove myself? Maybe Cassandra was right, and I’d never truly be one of them. My mind felt numb and disconnected, yet every movement seemed fueled by a desperate need to escape. I undressed the new ones and threw them on the bed, not caring where they landed. I pulled on the ripped pants I came in with and the T-shirt, my fingers clumsy and cold. It felt like I was unraveling, piece by piece. Underneat
