Magnus’s POV

We gathered around Luna’s body, which was wrapped in a sheet and lay on a bed of wood.

The girl finished her sad song. Michael stepped forward with the torch, and then everything happened so fast.

Diane burst through the doors, running toward her mother’s body.

Michael was almost there. I yelled her name.

Adira saw Diane and jumped in front of her right as Michael lowered the torch. The fire burned part of Adira’s back and hair, but she protected Diane with her own body.

Jan rushed in, her hands over her mouth. Anger and panic took over, and I lost control, hitting her with my cane again and again. The shock of what I’d done brought me back. Jan cried quietly.

Guilt and horror replaced my anger when I remembered Adira. Michael took Diane from Adira’s arms, gave her to a woman, and then helped Adira stand.

I watched her. When Adira’s legs gave out, I caught her and held her close.

"Take her to my room and get the doctor."

"How bad is her burn?" I asked, looking at the doctor.

The doctor glanced at Adira's back and replied, "A large spot, but she started to heal. It's a good thing. I left the ointment. Someone needs to keep putting it on." He paused, looking at me as if weighing his words. "Most would take days for skin even to close up this much, but some healers in our world recover faster, especially if they have the blood. Still, this is quicker than usual, even for us."

"Part of her hair was burned, so we cut it off. It’s still long, just..."

"She saved Diane," I said. "I owe her a life."

Alpha Magnus, she needs rest.

Yeah, I’ll make sure she gets it. I pulled up a chair and sat by the bed, watching her face. She looked so innocent and beautiful.

Adira opened her eyes. "It hurts," she whispered.

I sat up, moved over, and sat on the bed.

"I’ll put on the ointment. Stay still." With her back bare, I checked the burn. It looked better, but was still red. When I touched it, something changed. A soft, silvery light started to pulse under Adira’s skin, spreading in gentle waves from where my hand touched her.

The glow shimmered like moonlight, moving between her shoulder blades and down her spine. I held my breath as warmth from her skin spread through my palm, up my arm, and into my chest. My heartbeat sped up, wild energy rushing inside me.

Adira shivered under my touch, as if threads of light were tying us together. Her body tingled with something strange, but it also felt right.

Han, my wolf spirit, stirred. "Your mate," he whispered.

"Be quiet, Han," I told him.

I spread the ointment slowly. My hand burned. Han, my wolf, was losing control. I stood up.

"Thank you, Alpha," she whispered, closing her eyes.

I lay next to her, making sure to keep the distance. After a while, I fell asleep only to wake up feeling warm. Adira was curled up next to me.

The sheet had slipped down, leaving her breast exposed. I didn’t know what to do, so I closed my eyes. She’s so beautiful, I thought.

I opened one eye, sneaking a peek. She turned, and her hand landed on my chest. I stared at her, naked and sprawled on my bed. I needed to leave. Han was screaming inside me. Mate. Mate.

She opened her eyes and caught me looking. Shit. As she focused, she realized she was exposed, and her face turned bright red. sorry... Alpha Magnus?"

"Let me see your back," I said firmly.

She turned. The burn was almost gone. I stared, confused. What kind of potion did the doctor give her? Did it really heal this fast, or was something else going on? I wanted to kiss her shoulder, to touch the skin where the fire had tried to take her from me. Stop thinking like this, I told myself. Leave. Just leave.

"It’s better. Rest more. I have work to do."

"I’ll help you," she said, wrapping the sheet around herself. When she sat up, her hair fell over her shoulder.

"Oh, they cut my hair..."

I’m sorry about that. It was burned. But it looks good on you, I started to say, then I

coughed.

"No work today, just rest. I’ll have someone bring you clothes. Adira, thank you for saving my child."

I wanted to tell her how brave she was.

Rova Pack, Ancient Territory

Alexander’s POV

I walked into the office.

I dialed again. Why aren’t they answering? Alpha Edwin should have been here. I walked outside and saw the SUV pull up in front of the packhouse.

Morgana walked out. "Alexander," she said dramatically, "Alpha Edwin is dead."

"What? How? Where is he?"

We had an accident, she said, pointing to her head. There was a Band-Aid on her forehead. He didn’t make it. Morgana’s face remained oddly blank, her eyes downcast, lips tightly pressed together as if holding something back. She kept her posture straight and didn’t fidget, her voice calm and flat. It was hard to tell if she was in shock or simply untouched by grief. The way she avoided my gaze made a prickle of unease settle in my chest.

I just stared, unable to believe it. "We need to bring his body back. Tell me where he is."

Morgana sighed, then told him the name of the town.

She doesn’t even look sad, Alexander thought.

I gestured. "Get two cars. We’re leaving. We need to bring the alpha’s body back."

Torne Pack.

Magnus’s POV

I walked back into the bedroom. The bed was empty. Where was she?

I opened the bathroom door and saw her turned to the side, looking at her back in the mirror.

"I’m sorry," I said, not moving. I took a step, and her eyes looked scared.

She covered her breasts with her arms.

I felt so attracted to her that I took one more step. My hand touched her shoulder. She trembled.

Adira started to glow. The silvery light shimmered over her skin again, brighter than before. I froze, heart pounding, not sure what it meant. Was it some power, or just my imagination? All I knew was the glow felt important, like a secret just starting to show itself.

Han was thrashing inside me. Her eyes were closed. I kissed her forehead. Her body relaxed for a second. I’m going insane, I thought. Then pulled away, turned, and limped my way out.

I dropped into the office chair. Her scent lingered in my nose. I growled.

"Mate, she is your mate," Han said.

Did you feel her wolf?

"No, but she’s your mate. Tell her," Han insisted.

"Han, I’m not in the mood to argue with you. Leave me alone."

I wanted her. That was all I could think about. Her sweetness... fuck. I threw my coffee cup at the wall.

  • SAVAGE ALPHA KING AND THE FATED SERVANT   Second chances

Kaden’s POVI looked around, my heart pounding as I spotted the enemy rogues hiding among the shadows of the training yard. The emergency alarm blared, piercing the chaos. Magnus, fueled by rage, charged straight into the attackers, slashing through them as they tried to scatter. The scent of blood and panic filled the air. I saw Raina collapse, an arrow sticking out from her side. Realizing the danger, I scooped her up and sprinted toward the clinic, dodging fallen warriors and debris. Inside, Luna Adira was already busy treating several wounded warriors as fast as she could. She caught sight of me bursting in and immediately gestured for me to put Raina on a table.Poisoned, she said, " This is bad, Kaden. She took the hit for me, I whispered.Luna Adira worked on stopping the bleeding after pulling it out. She told me to wait outside.I was pacing back and forth when Alpha Magnus walked inside, bare-chested, his body covered in blood. I covered my mouth. That was a sneak attack, bu

Kaden’s POVIn two months, I think she is finally learning to follow the rules and the directions I gave her every morning. I’m walking back to see her fixing the clothes in the closet for me, freshly washed. She sees me, and she comes in front of me, her eyes on the floor. Follow me I said firmly. The pack has been tormenting her, everywhere she went, and I never interfered. Raina needs to learn where she went wrong, the mistakes she made. Today I wanted to reward her for her good behavior, so I will let her shift. We walked deep in the woods, and she looked scared behind her. Undress, I commanded her, as I started to take my shirt off.Raina took her shirt off; she was wearing no bra, her breasts exposed, her nipples hard. Okay, I wanted to touch her, but I don’t know if she’s ready yet. I took my pants off, and her gaze went down, measuring me.Like what you see, Raina? I asked smilingShe blushed. Well, that’s a good sign, I thought. Then she took her pants off. Touche! It was my

  • SAVAGE ALPHA KING AND THE FATED SERVANT   The orphan

Adira’s POVMagnus, four warriors, and I made our way toward the back edges of the pack lands, where the old pine forest pressed close, tangled with mist and the earthy scent of moss. The air was tense, the kind that carried silent warnings between wolves, and every step seemed to echo in the hush. We were heading to Morgana’s small cottage, infamous in the pack for its shuttered windows and wild garden grown thick with poisonous herbs—a place most avoided, even at midday. Morgana was known for her sharp tongue and darker talents; some whispered she could sway the wind or coax secrets from blood. A threat, Magnus had called her more than once, and perhaps he was right. The family living next door—a nervous pair—said she had not been home for a week. This was not good, but we knew where she would go, to the rogues.Let’s keep an eye on this, I said, turning to the tallest of the warriors. He was one of Magnus’s most trusted fighters, often given difficult tasks when discipline was need

  • SAVAGE ALPHA KING AND THE FATED SERVANT   Where is Morgana?

Adira’s POVMagnus, I said, taking his hand, I’m scared. This is too much. I don’t want to be a princess. He laughed. But you are, he said, kissing my hand. I even have to bow to you, and I’m sure you’ll take advantage of me.Seriously, that’s all you can think of? I said, frustrated.I’m trying to get you to relax; it's not your first time in the pack. But I was the Beta’s daughter, not the princess. People will look at me differently. You’re wrong; they see the Adira that grew up with her people, the same Adira that helped the pack and its people.Magnus, I turned to him, don’t let go of my hand, " I said as the door opened. He chuckled.Of course, princess. He stepped out and helped me out. When he moved, I saw the pack gathered. They bowed as I walked towards my parents. This is a wonderful day, my dad said. We got our daughter back. Adira is the sole heir of this pack and its ancient lineage. Now, her mate, the Alpha king Magnus, took her from the pack, and the decision is hers i

  • SAVAGE ALPHA KING AND THE FATED SERVANT   I love to hunt

Kaden’s POVI walked towards the dungeon, and the guard opened the door for me. This pack was my salvation. I am loyal to my Alpha and Luna. He made me the lead warrior for a reason; I was brutal and had no mercy for the enemy. When I realized Raina was my fated mate, something broke inside of me. She was a beautiful poison.Raina needs to learn who’s in charge and get that bitter poison out of her. I don’t know if she realized I’m her mate; her arrogance may have kept her from realizing it. Now, bloodied on the floor, she looked fragile. For a moment, I could almost see the fear flicker across her face, her eyes darting between defiance and something I couldn’t quite read—maybe confusion, maybe disbelief. Did she even understand why her heart raced when I was near, or was she silently wishing this was all a nightmare she could wake up from? The possibility of her not knowing, not accepting, gnawed at me.Get up, I said firmly. She didn’t move. I grabbed her hair and made her get up.

  • SAVAGE ALPHA KING AND THE FATED SERVANT   Did I ever lie to you?

Adira’s POVWe all sat on the sofa, Magnus holding my hand. I didn’t know what to say; it felt so weird to find my parents. They adopted me even though they’re actually my birth parents. The night you were born, my dad started. Northern lights came down, and your mother struggled with the birth. She finally gave birth to you. Lilian was crying. You were still born.I held you for a bit, and your dad took you away because I was beside myself with grief.Edwin took you to the forest and started digging your little grave, while I came back to console your mother. As far as we knew, you died. But the Goddess had another plan for you, and Edwin for us. My brother wanted the crown, and when he realized you’re alive, he hid you with the rogues. We couldn’t stay in the pack anymore; it was too painful. The decision was made, and we stepped down, giving him the crown.Alexander’s wife couldn’t have pups, and Edwin told him to adopt, and he made sure he picked you. This is the only good thing
