Serena spent the next days in fear, hiding from Thomas. She barely came out of her room and when she did, she was always with a maid or someone she could trust. She was eagerly waiting for the week to be over so Gerald could return from his trip. When the third day arrived, she didn't come out at all. She had expected Lana to bring her food just like she had been doing for the past few days so when noon arrived and Lana was nowhere to be found, she was immediately worried. Thinking Thomas might have done something to them, she immediately stepped out of the room.

With her heart in her throat, she stepped out of the room, surveying the hallway. It was empty. Serena let out a breath she didn't know she was holding and continued down, calling Lana's name. There was no response from her or anyone for that matter. That made her even more worried than before. Her steps soundless, she continued downstairs, glancing around.
