Chapter 13: CONNOR

After cleaning up and heading to bed, I was finally able to relax for the first time that day. I hadn't realized that I'd been holding my breath, waiting for something to go wrong, to keep her from me. But she was here now, and there was nothing that could take her away; I won't let it.

"Does your parents know you're here?"

"Um, yeah, I told my mom."

"And what did she say?"

"She wasn't too happy about us living together without, um, marriage, but she respects the fact that I'm an adult."

"That's it? That's her only issue with us that we're not married?"
