CHAPTER 24

While Maika was lost in her thoughts

Carl watched Maika from afar, his heart racing. She was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. Her pale skin and dark hair were in stark contrast to his own dark fur and amber eyes. He couldn't take his eyes off of her.

Maika was a vampire, and Carl was a lycan. The two species had been at war for centuries, but Carl couldn't help but be drawn to her. She was everything he had ever wanted in a woman: beautiful, strong, and mysterious.

Carl knew that he should stay away from her, but he couldn't help himself. He was drawn to her like a moth to a flame. He knew that if he got too close, he would be in danger, but he didn't care. He had to be with her.
