“Hello, Dr. Harper,” he greeted him after he picked up the call.

“Hello, Mr. Bailey. How is she?” the doctor inquired.

“That is why I called you. I'm scared doctor. She had been sleeping since we returned.”

“Yes. She needed to sleep. She had been under acute stress and antidepressant drugs will cool her nerves.”

“It is all right. Thank you, Doctor.”

“You are welcome.”

At this point, he walked back to the bedroom with a pen and a paper. Then, he reminisced about his encounter with the nurse at the hospital and chuckled.

“What could be her name?” He asked himself.

When he could not get an answer, he shrugged his shoulders and dropped a note for her all the same.

(Please, dear. I would have loved to be by your side, but I have to be at work. Your food is on the dining table. In case you need my attention, call my security man or the janitor, and they will reach out to me. Take care of yourself. Denise.)

Afterward, he dropped it beside her, walked back to the parlor, and looked around for the janitor to instruct him on what to do in his absence. When he could not find him, he walked to the veranda, where he met the security guard.

“John," he called out.

“Yes, Boss.”

“Where is Caleb?”

“Let me get him,” he promised and walked to the boys' quarters while Denise stood patiently and waited for them.

Soon, John arrived with the janitor.

“Boss, you sent for me," the janitor said.

“Yes, Caleb. We have a visitor, and she is just out of the hospital. You must not be far away from the house."

“I got it, Boss.”

"Good. Whenever she wakes up, attend to her and call me if there's any challenge. Did you get me?”

“I got you, Boss.”

“That is good. I will be on my way.”

“See you later.”

At 3:30 PM, he left for work, hoping to be at the office by 4:00 PM.

At Seven Oaks – Evening

Louis was lying on the floor of his bedroom and was a shadow of himself because he had not had any food, coupled with his missing love. Due to his family upbringing, he was not the sociable type. That was why he had his first girlfriend at twenty-one and maintained her until date. He had the same character as Olivia, and that made the two of them. He recalled how he met her on the campus

After she was discharged from the clinic that day, he drove her to the grocery shop and got enough fruit for her before he took her to the hostel. He never asked her to be his girlfriend, but she naturally became one. After he graduated, he was still visiting her in school. That day, part of him was gone, and he did not have any friends he could confide in apart from his cousin, Denise. Notwithstanding, he would not want to discuss such a dicey matter with him.

“Was she kidnapped on her way home?” He pondered, and many thoughts found their way to his mind as a result of that assumption.

“Where was she kept?”

“How many of them?”

“What would they be doing with her since last night?”

He tried her number again, but it was not connecting. Now, he began to cry profusely. His domestic staff members noticed that something was wrong, but could not pin it anywhere.

“What could be bothering the boss?” Tony asked his colleague.

“I wish I had an idea; meanwhile, I feel we should find out.”

“I feel like that too but he has locked his door.”

“Let us find out all the same. He may need someone to talk to.”

“It is all right.”

They walked to the door of his bedroom and knocked several times but there was no response. They looked at each other and decided to call him. His phone rang numerous times before it cut. When they had exhausted every means of getting his attention, they used their last resort.

“We cannot watch him go through this and do nothing. We have to pull down the door," Ton declared.

“You are right, Tony.”

In less than ten minutes, the door was down, and they rushed in.

“What!” They screamed in unison.

At Denise's Apartment

On Sunday morning, as early as 6 AM, Freya, Denise's elder sister, drove into the compound without hindrance because the security guard had left the gate open.

She parked her car, got out of the car, looked at the unattended gate, and called out, “John.”

The Security guard, who had been at the Boy's Quarters chatting with the janitor, appeared at once.

“Yes, Mrs. Anderson," he answered in trepidation before he greeted her, "You are welcome.”

“Thank you, John. How are you?”

“I'm fine, Mrs. Anderson. I am delighted to see you,” he answered happily.

“Why were you not at the gate, John?” she looked into his eyes and asked.

“I'm sorry, Mrs. Anderson.”

“Why was the gate not locked? Are you sorry as well?” she asked him with an angry face.

Now, John was speechless and Mrs. Anderson continued, “Be careful, John. If you must leave the gate, make sure it is locked.”

“I have taken note, Mrs. Anderson.”

“That is good to hear. By the way, where is your boss? His car is not here.”

“He has gone to work.”

“Work! Why so early?” she asked him and looked at her wristwatch.

“No, Mrs. Anderson. He left yesterday. He is on PM Shift," John corrected her.

“Oh! I see," she said and walked to the door.

She attempted to open it with her key but to her surprise, the door was not locked. Then, she pushed it and walked in.

While in the sitting room, she muttered, “Why did he leave the door open? This is quite unlike him.”

Now, she walked to the dining table, opened the dishes, and remarked, “He did not even eat before leaving for work.”

Now, she hissed and climbed the staircase leisurely. She got to the bedroom and was amazed.

“A girl? In Denise's bedroom?” She exclaimed when she saw Olivia lying helplessly on the bed.

Then she walked in to take a good look at her, but what she saw scared her out of her common sense.

“What?” She shouted.

At once, she dropped her purse on the bed and rushed to her. She raised her numb hand and attempted to lift her.

“Oh my God! Why should Denise be so careless?” She thought and rushed Olivia to her car.

Instantly, she drove off hastily to her family doctor. The two domestic staff who Denise entrusted Olivia into their care watched her drive off. They never had the wisdom to even call him to inform him of the latest.

At Freya's Family Clinic

“What is her name?” The nurse asked when she attempted to fill out the patient's card.

Freya hesitated but the nurse insisted and repeated, “I mean her name, Mrs. Anderson.”

Freya reluctantly supplied a name that was suitable for Olivia's looks.

“Angel.”

“I see. The surname, please.”

“Denise,” she said and saved herself from the embarrassment.

The nurse filled out the form and left with it in a jiffy. Later, the doctor invited Freya to his office for a chat.

“Mrs. Anderson, there is no cause for alarm. Everything is under control,” he encouraged her.

She breathed freely and he continued, “She needs a lot of rest and ensure that she takes her drugs. Let her eat more fruits and vegetables.”

“I got it.”

“When you get home now, give her a warm beverage and let her take a warm bath.”

“It is noted, Doctor.”

“Good. Kindly collect her prescriptions from the pharmacy.”

“I will do that, Doctor.”

“Good.”

"Thank you so much, Doctor, for your concern. We will be on our way.”

“It is all right. Take care of her.”

At that point, Olivia was starving, but she could walk. Then, she began to sob as Freya guided her to

the car and encouraged her, “Stop crying, my dear. Everything will be all right.”

At The BarracksBrown arrived for the meeting at 7 AM. As the head of his family, he knew what to expect from the other Family Heads but he was prepared for them.“Good morning to you, our Patriarch,” he greeted him“Good morning, Brown. How are you?”“As you can see, I am good. What about you?”“I could not catch a sleep last night because of today’s meeting.”“It is expected. We cannot run away from our responsibilities.”“You are right. If those before us had run away from theirs, who knows where we would have been by now.”“You are right.”At that point, the scumbag, Stephen, walked in and greeted them, “Good morning, our Patriarch. Good morning, my Family Head.”The two elders did not bother to respond to his greeting nor glimpse at him. The Patriarch ordered without looking at his face, “Wait in the hall.”“Thank you, our Patriarch,” the momentarily repentant Stephen said, walked to the hall and took his seat. He watched the family heads trickling in gradually before the Patria

Denise paused and looked at her innocent face without responding, but she continued, “Are you still mad at me?”“Eat your food first,” Denise responded and kept feeding her. She took two more spoons and stopped. “I am okay. Thank you,” she sobbed.Unfortunately, Denise failed to respond to the situation. He was angry with the woman that he must save her life.‘I have to concentrate on saving her life first. I can get angry later,’ he advised himself and smiled. He scooped the food and then urged her, “Sweetheart, I don’t think you are okay. Just take more spoons and you will be okay.” Olivia saw it as an opportunity to strike a bargain with her husband, and she quickly asked, “Answer me. Are you still mad at me?”Denise smiled and asked her too, “Can I ever be mad at my beautiful Angel?”(Peck)She gave him a dampened smile and wiped the teardrops that trickled down her cheeks with the back of her hand. Denise was emotional at that point. He dropped the plate and the spoon on the

Now, he gave her a call for the second time. The phone rang several times and timed out.“She must have gone to sleep,” he concluded and went to sleep as well.At the Tourist Center. The Officer was happy with the changes in Jude’s composure. His youthfulness radiated as he was constantly happy. The moisture that usually gathered in his eyes whenever he wanted to speak was not there. He enjoyed making music with his piano rather than watching the television. When the Security Officer got to his room that afternoon for his lunch, he observed that he spoke freely with him; more like a relation than a stranger.“How is your day going, Jude?” he inquired.Jude smiled, paused from the keyboard, and responded, “My day is going well, Sir. And you?”“Fine. Your lunch is here.”“Okay. Thank you, Sir. How about the boss?”“The boss is good. He sent his love.”“Oh! I hope I will meet him soon.”“Yea! You will meet him sooner than you can imagine. Just relax.”“It is okay, Sir. Thank you for your

The clerks noticed the same attitude and were astonished. Without looking back, she walked to the car park, got into her car, and drove to the gate. She stopped and got out of the car. The Security men were surprised to see a woman who was raging a few minutes ago walking solemnly to their office. Quietly, she picked up her phone and drove away.‘What must have happened? Who is the President of the Bailey International Conglomerates?’ She mulled over and drove on. Nevertheless, she never considered calling Stephen, neither was she aware that she narrowly escaped the police arrest. Now, Denise had sent for the Security Officer who drove to the Admin Block after Lorene drove off.“You called me, Boss,” the officer stated.“Yes. Why did you call the cop on that woman?”“I did not call the cop, they just came.”“How? What do you mean by they just came?" Denise furrowed his brow and asked him.Incidentally, the security officer was not aware that Denise was not in the picture of the arra

At the Gate.‘He would be surprised to see me,’ she fantasized and parked. She honked with the confidence that she would not be turned back anymore. Then, the Chief Security Officer, who had seen many of her types since the previous week, walked up to her by himself.“Good day, Ma’am. How may I help you?” he asked her politely. The new face she was seeing for the first time looked more mature than the security guard who had embarrassed her the previous week. “I wish to see the President,” she said confidently. Now, the CSO observed her again and inquired, “Are you on an appointment with him, Ma’am?”“Yes. He must be expecting me. Please open the gate. I want to avoid keeping him waiting,” she made clear. The officer locked eyes with her and then declared with a mockery smile, “I see. Sorry, Ma’am. The President is not on the seat.”Just like anyone would be, with a surge of hostility and violence, she got out of her car and began to rant, “What do you take me for? A kid? After int

Under the present circumstances, Stephen’s head could not process the information he got at the same time. From the stranger’s speech, he grasped that he was aware of the issue at hand. Then, he looked at the two elders and inquired, “Oscar’s wife?”Stephen, whose purpose of visiting his Patriarch was to find a solution to the river of problems that was drowning him, had just discovered another problem. All the same, he had to straighten things out, “I don’t have anything to do with Oscar’s wife. I ….”However, the Patriarch and the Family Head thought that his explanations were lies and aggravated his already bad case. The Patriarch rose from his couch with his military demeanor and the might of the Patriarch of the Bailey’s family and thundered. “I will not hesitate to throw you out of the barracks after the soldiers have court-marshaled you if you think you can dance on our intelligence.”Now, Stephen was aware that he had screwed up and that making excuses would cause him more t
