Laila's POV

The great City of Lycankar.

I’d heard stories about it, rumors mostly but one thing stood: it was a beautiful city especially that night.

The buildings all had a unique design and it was lined with trees each with a lantern glowing at its center.

The streets were quiet despite the numerous people outside, I wanted my son to grow up in this type of neighborhood.

The building that fascinated me the most was the bell tower, standing gracefully above the town, surrounded by flowering vines and fireflies.

I didn't care much about buildings but I had to distract my mind from thinking about the man next to me.

It worked temporarily but heedlessly I found myself peeking a glance at the silver haired man.

My nerves were all over the place and my lips involuntarily smiled when the scent of roses filled my nostrils.

He had done this for me.

Maybe I judged him harshly. Like Alex said, if only I could get close to see the real him.

Was that his way of wanting me close?
