KAHLAN AND DAMON "Well I first noticed Ryan at a restaurant Angie's family owns. He was a bus boy." I chuckled at the memory. "A very cute bus boy, I might add. I mean, I had seen him around school, but we ran in very different circles. So we never really had a chance to get together and talk." Damon looked. "He was the first guy to walk right up to me in front of my parents and ask for my number, because I was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. You should have heard it. It was the cheesiest line ever." I stood up and walked over to Damon's bookshelf, glancing at the books while I talked. I didn't want Damon to see my face as I talked about the old Ryan, because sometimes, those memories still made me smile. They were good memories, but I felt bad for having them. What would Angie and dad think? What would Dr. Meir think? "We dated for a year, my longest relationship yet. He would send me one single rose with all the thorns on it every day he didn't see me. It was really cute."

SANDINO Sandino was lost. That was the only way to describe what he was thinking and feeling. He was caught between two girls and the feelings of a close friend. There was something about seeing Brooke today at her favorite spot, he didn't know what it was. It brought comfort for him to know that not everything was a lie. He still, in some way, knew her. It also helped to know that she was thinking about him and that she did, to some extent, want to be with him. But then there was Kahlan. He didn't know her as well as he knew Brooke, but she just seemed so trustworthy. She seemed to be the person that you could count on when everything was falling apart. She seemed stable and strong minded, something about her just attracted him to her. She was gorgeous, no doubt. She was sweet and had a little bit of a humorous side. Sandino had somehow found himself outside of the Meir home. How did he get here? Why was he here? He had thoughts about walking up and knocking, ready to really talk to

KAHLAN, CHAD, AND SANDINO Sandino looked behind him and sure enough it was Chad. He stood there with a blank expression on his face. What did he see? How long was he there? "Hey," Chad said, voice deep, first looking at his best friend and then at me. "What are you doing here Dino?" Dino looked. "Relationship advice," Sandino answered, taking his hands from around me. "No one knows more than Kahlan." Chad walked a little closer and just continued to stare. I hadn't been accused of anything...yet, and I already wanted to spill the beans and bust out with apologies. "Yes," I added, "Sandino has decided that there isn't any other girl that he is interested in besides Brooke." Sandino looked back at me, his face displaying disappointment, then he turned his attention back to Chad. "Kahlan makes an excellent point," Sandino replied, "I've decided to give Brooke another chance. I just had to thank her for all her help with a kiss--HUG!" KAHLAN His hand was shaky, but the rest of his body was still as his blue eyes stared at my father and I. I had seen the blood on his shirt. I was sure he was hurt, but I wasn't sure where. The blood could belong to Angela. I had my face in my father's chest, holding on to him. He and I were afraid for our lives. Ryan's face was wet. He looked as if he had been crying, or sweating insanely hard. "I love you!" He shouted, with a bit of a whine. "Can't you see that?" He paused, waiting for a response, but I didn't have one. "Look at me when I'm talking to you!" I forced myself to turn around and face him. "I'll do anything for you. I'm not like your mother. I won't just leave you in your time of need." I stared. "Do you get that?" He had been asking so many questions tonight, and I never answered any of them. "ANSWER ME!" It was obviously getting to him. "I don't want to be with you!" I cried back, finding my voice. "I will never ever want to be with you again!" His eyes were wide.

KAHLAN AND DAMON Damon had found an ad that seemed to have everything he was looking for. One bedroom, one bathroom, close to the beach. That was all he needed and it was in his price range. He pulled up to a tiny house, seeing the 'For Rent' sign almost immediately. The place looked bigger and nicer than he thought. His initial thought was to get an apartment, then he thought about how he planned to stay here. So, he looked into houses too, just in case. He got out of the car, having the home stand over him, blocking him from the sun. He wanted to take a closer look, so he did. He had reached the front door, seeing that it had a doorbell. There was only one window at the front of the house, and as you looked in, he saw a hallway with tile floor, and a nicely carpeted living room. He wanted to see more, so he made his way around the side, only to be stopped by a fence and someone crying. He looked around, thinking that maybe someone was hurt, or he was hearing things. BROOKE AND JAMES Brooke had awoken from an afternoon nap with a smile on her face. First, she and Sandino had gotten over their fight and we're now back together. Second, his face and love had taken over her dreams. However she had reason to frown. One would be the fact that she had slept with James as well, and now he was back to blowing up her phone. She didn't want to talk to him. She knew right after if had happened that she had made a mistake and now there was no way to fix it. So, she was just going to ignore it and act like nothing had happened. It was the best way. She had been back and forth about what she was going to do when it came to Carly. Too many people knew her secret and Carly had already heard the news, thinking it was a lie. Eventually she would catch up. Brooke was so upset that she couldn't just own up to it, or be honest. Carly was going to be upset, no doubt about it, maybe she would be like Sandino and with a few weeks time she would forgive her. Maybe she's b

KAHLAN AND ASHLEY "It's Monday." That was my first sentence of the day. God, I hate Mondays, this Monday in particular. Today, I would go to school and face Chad and Sandino. I hadn't spoken to neither of them and our conversations hadn't ended on a good note. Then there was James Blake...His name meant trouble and seeing him meant worse. How would he be at school? Would he approach me? And last, I would meet with Damon Meir. He was going to be full of questions. There was no doubt about it. As I walked onto the school campus, the first person I saw was Ashley. "Sooo, how was your weekend?" She asked. I looked over at her, letting out a sigh. She gave a chuckle, as she worked to put her long hair into a messy bun. "That bad huh?" She squinted, trying to keep the bright light from the morning sun out of her eyes as she looked at me. "You have no idea." She hooked on to my arm, eyes still on me. "Why don't you tell me about it?" I stared. There was nothing wrong with talking

ROBERT AND CARLY Carly and her father walked through the front door of their home, coffee drinks in their hands, in mid conversation. Robert laughed, as he held the door open for his only daughter, who talked about the cute cashier who seemed to be flirting with him. "I'm trying to tell you dad, she's into you. Why else would she always add an extra splash of Vanilla and extra whipped cream, without charging you, like she's supposed to." "She was being nice," he answered, closing and locking the door. Carly made her way into the living room, sitting on the couch, with that bright smile of hers still on display. Robert sat in a comfy one-person chair to the right of her, taking notice of the happiness she was showing. It was strange to him, he thought she would be on edge for a while, scared and keeping to herself, but she wasn't. She was being just the opposite.
