Twenty Two

I slumped on my office chair, it was getting more and more depressing coming into work without Leon. He wasn't doing great either, he might say my whole life was around the police but his was as well. When you spend ninety percent of your time at work it's hard for it to suddenly stop. He was getting worse, I was at nans yesterday and when I got back to him he hadn't showered, still in the same position in bed.

"Lexie," Williams nodded towards her office. I took a deep breath as I walked in, I don't think I could deal with anything else. I gave her a weak smile, completely drained.

"You don't look great." She was frowning. I just shrugged, me and Leon had been really trying to look after the other person but we were clearly failing. I felt a lump in my throat and I swallowed it down.

"I'm fine ma'am, thanks. Can I help?" I sat down, my hands in my lap.

"I wanted to check in with you if you know how Leon is?" She raised her eyebrows.
