It was a Wednesday, me and Leon were about to go on nights and had a day off to prepare. He was sitting, shirtless on his sofa, playing some game. “Did you want me to go home at any point?” I walked into his living room, a bowl of cereal in my hand. I hadn’t really been home in months. The last two weeks had gone by in a spin. Trying to organise nan’s funeral and sort out her house. It allowed me to put my mind to something, none of this really hitting me. I went back to work a couple of days ago, but Leon put me on desk duty. Allowing me to do paperwork and help organise the armoury. I was back in the field and I was so fucking happy. My adrenaline was pumping and my hand was tight around my gun. We had been called to an active shooter in an office block, there were shit loads of us, armed police on every floor. We were told to get to the fourth floor and Leon was in front, walking up the stairs, Matt was behind him and me behind Matt. I was doing my usual, walking backwards up the stairs, my gun pointed. "Duggan, Bailey! Armoury now!" Williams shouted to us from her office. Me and Leon both jumped up, grabbing our vests. It was barely nine in the morning and I looked at my full mug of coffee as we jogged to the armoury. "Leon Bailey," Leon said as he got to the armoury window.
