After my conversation with Mr. Kyle that day, I still couldn't get hold of Enzo for another three days. Mr. Kyle wasn't letting me see him because his men kept stopping me. Even when he left his office, one thing or another always stopped me from getting to him. My head was a mess. Back at home, I had planned a small outing for Mira and Mom without telling either of them. But it turned into a failure, just like I expected. Mira and I had a fight before I left home for work. Enzo still wasn't replying to my messages. I pressed my lips together and stared at the entrance of the bar. "What's got you thinking?" Shawn asked as he stood in front of the counter. "Ah. Nothing, really," I said with a forced smile. I suddenly spotted Mr. Kyle leaving his office upstairs with his men. I quickly grabbed my phone. "Where are you going?" Shawn asked as I left my station. “Uh, the bathroom. Cover for me for a while,” I told him before walking outside. Before I could get to him, his men grabbed my arm and pinned me against a car. I groaned and tried to pull my arm free. “You'll hurt him. Let him go,” I heard Mr. Kyle say. I winced as I rubbed my arm. “I'm coming with you to see Enzo. I would've gone myself, sir, but the tight security wouldn't let me in,” I said as I walked over to him. “I promise I'll leave if he sends me away. I promise I'll leave when he tells me to.” Mr. Kyle pulled out a cigar and let out a chuckle. "You wouldn't last a second there, then." He said, and my heart slammed against my chest. I swallowed hard and lowered my eyes. Are you giving up now, Nick? If he was cheating, then maybe it was better to find out now so we could both move on. "I... just want to see him," I said, my voice shaking. He lit the cigar between his lips and gave a slow nod. "Get in the car, then," he said. My head snapped up the second I heard those words. “Are...” I tried to speak, but he sighed. “Don't keep him waiting,” he said before getting into the car. I quickly ran to the other side before his men drove off and headed for Enzo. All through the whole ride to see Enzo, I kept rubbing my cold hands together. My heart was beating so fast. Less than an hour later, we reached the face security check before the gate slowly opened for the car to drive in. We stopped in front of the familiar huge mansion, and I stepped out. I looked at the entrance and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I pulled out my phone and started calling him as we walked inside. I heard his phone ringing and followed the sound. I scoffed when I found it lying under a couch. I picked up his phone and saw so many missed calls and text messages on the screen. "Enzo!" I yelled as I ran upstairs to look for him. He couldn't be dead, right? I mean, he had been away from his phone for quite a while. What has Mr. Kyle been doing? Didn't he tell Enzo about me? Before I could walk into his room, I heard someone hitting something so hard. I quickly rushed over to see who it was. I let out a shaky breath when I saw Enzo. He kept hitting the punching bag with all his strength and yelled. "Enzo," I called softly, and he looked back at me. I froze. I didn't like the look in his eyes. "What are you doing here?" he asked. There was so much anger in his eyes, as if they wanted revenge and nothing else. "What's wrong, Enzo?" I asked as I went close to him. “Fuck. I thought I made things clear to Kyle. What the fuck are you doing here?” he snapped at me. I frowned at his words. “I've been trying to reach you for a week. I thought something had happened to you...” I started, but he cut me off. “I'm fine. Go home,” he said as he walked past me. I scoffed in disbelief and went after him. “Is that all you have to say to me? I've been so worried about you, and all you're telling me is to go home?” I yelled after him. He ignored me as he walked downstairs. The moment he saw Mr. Kyle, he walked straight up to him in anger. I quickly ran to him and stood in front of him. "What the fuck is wrong with you, huh?" I asked, trying to catch my breath. "Take him home with you," Enzo said to Kyle. "So that's it? You told Mr. Kyle not to let me see you?" I asked. "I'm not leaving until you fucking tell me what's wrong," I said. “It's none of your business.” He snapped and walked back to the stairs. “Enzo,” I called as I hurried after him. “If you take one more step, it's over between us,” I said before I could stop myself. He stopped on the stairs but didn't turn to look at me. “There was never anything between us, Nick. Remember?” he said, and my heart slammed against my chest. Silence fell between us as we stood on the stairs before he walked into his gym room. “Nick, come on. Let's go,” Mr. Kyle called as tears filled my eyes. He was joking, right? I slowly clenched my fists as I walked back downstairs to Mr. Kyle. "It's fine, Nick," I told myself as I looked upstairs. I held the railing for support and quietly sat on the stairs. I scoffed as I remembered what he had said. Then I went back upstairs, ignoring Mr. Kyle's call, and went back to Enzo. "I thought I made it clear for you to leave," he yelled. I sighted a knife on the chair. I pulled it from its sheath and slashed my wrist. "Hey, Nick!" he yelled as he rushed over to me. "What the fuck are you doing?" he shouted before tearing off part of his shirt and wrapping it around my bleeding wrist. "That's what I thought," I whispered. He looked up at me, and I kissed him. I kissed him out of anger and the pain his words had left behind.NICK WALKER ©After my conversation with Mr. Kyle that day, I still couldn't get hold of Enzo for another three days.Mr. Kyle wasn't letting me see him because his men kept stopping me. NICK WALKER ©The exams were over, and the holiday had finally started. But I hadn't been able to reach Enzo for the past three days.He hadn't come to my house, and I hadn't seen him at work either. He wasn't replying to my texts or answering my calls.I couldn't stop worrying.I just wanted to know if he was okay. Was he sick?“Aren't you going to eat?” Avery asked as we sat down for lunch.I sighed as I stared at the food in front of me.“If you're not going to eat it, give it to me,” Avery said, pulling my plate toward herself.Seriously? Before she could take another bite, Mira smacked the back of Avery's hand with her spoon and pulled the plate back to me.“Ow! That hurt.”“Mira, apologize,” I said quickly as I took Avery's hand to check it.“How did you even choose her as your friend?” Mira asked, shaking her head as she continued eating.“He wasn't eating. You didn't have to be so harsh,” Avery said, rubbing the spot where Mira had hit her.“Well... sorry,” Mira mumbled.Avery
LORENZO GRAYSON \ VADIM KERZHAKOV ©My phone had been ringing nonstop the entire drive home. It was still ringing when I walked through the front door. I tossed it across the spacious living room and headed upstairs.I grabbed a travel bag and opened the drawer to get my passport. Then I looked at my reflection before sliding the mirror aside, revealing the weapons hidden behind it.I picked a few of them and reached for my phone again. I'd already sent Kyle a message, asking him to book me a flight back to Russia.I rushed back downstairs and searched for the phone I'd thrown across the living room.“Where the fuck is it?” I yelled as I searched the lounge and the kitchen connected to it.Just then, I heard a car screech to a stop outside the house. It was Kyle.I grabbed my bag and hurried to his car.“The ticket?” I asked as I walked up to him.“What's going on?” he asked.I ran a hand through my hair and let out a frustrated sigh.“Kyle, I fucking need the ticket.”“Not until you

I could wait.“ She said.“You should go. It'll take a while.“ I said.I clenched my hands on the device in my palm as I headed to the office.I needed to know what was on the drive.I unlocked the door, walked over to my laptop, and plugged it in.I searched through the files and found only one video.I clicked play.“Move it,” someone said from the video. It looked like an underground room, with several men standing around. Then I saw my mother.I furrowed my brows and paused the video. Why was Mom in the video?I pressed play and kept watching as they dragged her by the arms while she tried to break free. Then it hit me.This was connected to the day she died. She was wearing the same clothes she had on when they found her body. They threw her onto the floor, and my breath caught in my thr
LORENZO GRAYSON \ VADIM KERZHAKOV©The moment I realized what had happened at the college last night, my thoughts went straight to my father.Antonio must never find out about this. The college was large and prestigious. If the video leaked, it would spread fast. Thinking about the footage of Nick and I made me wonder if Antonio already knew.Nick had to stay safe.I promised I would protect him, and I had no intention of breaking that promise.Kyle found out about the situation before reaching out to me. Then Professor Douglas, Alina, called me when the video started spreading around the college.I found someone who hacked the college account and got the video taken down, though it took some time.I handled the college board the same way I did when I first came here to work as a professor.Somehow, my thoughts drifted back to Nick once more, and I let out a quiet sigh.If Father had already found out about him, I had to move fast. There was still so much to do, especially finding the
NICK WALKER ©After I got Avery's message, I couldn't think straight. I switched off my phone because the school group chats wouldn't stop flooding my screen.I didn't think Enzo knew about the situation while we were still at the bar.I acted like everything was normal while we talked. He asked what was wrong on the drive home, but I couldn't tell him. This could ruin Enzo's role in College. What would happen if Enzo lost his job because of me?As soon as he stopped in front of my house, his phone rang.I was sure it was someone calling about the situation. This was all my fault.“Do you want me to take you to my place instead?” he asked, ignoring the call.“What will happen to us if everyone finds out?” I asked quietly. He reached over, smoothed my hair, and pressed a soft kiss to my lips.“Does it matter?” he asked.“Huh?“His phone rang again. He switched his phone to airplane mode and looked back at me.“The only thing that matters is you. As long as we're together, nothing else
