CHAPTER 22

Five years later.

"Mary!" A loud cry drew the girl's attention. He let go of the clothes he was holding and washed his hands to remove the excess foam from his hands.

"What is it?" Welcome him.

"Tisay! Come here!" It exclaims.

It took a shiny dress from inside the green plastic and attached it to Maria's body.

"Look Cindy! Maria is beautiful!"

"You're right, Kitty! Look at it, it seems like it's about to debut!"

Maria just smiled and took off the vestida then put it back in the plastic. "Thank you, but I don't need it anymore. I don't plan to celebrate either."

"Come on? What are you doing? We even took a leave from work!" Kitty complained.

"Yes! Let's eat at the newly opened fast food in the other barangay!" Cindy added.

"Don't worry. I'm really fine. One more thing and I have a duty."

"Hey, that's weird. You've done nothing but work. We're not milking you? Where's your money going?"

"I'm saving because I want to study."

"Hey, life is difficult. But go ahead if that's what you want.
