The Voice Is A Person

Bryan:

It was silent for a few seconds, the look on her face was subtle calm, but underneath that strong facade, was the subtle fidgeting of her nails, the dilated pupils, and the beads of sweat that formed on her eyebrows.

"What did you say?" She asked her voice like a wallowing whisper.

I sighed. "Your mother, she's alive," I repeated.

I let her have a few moments to herself, it was a bit much to take in, knowing your mother, your biological mother who you thought was dead was actually alive. I didn't know how I'd feel.

The look on Hannah's face was pale, as the blood drained from her face, her breath hitching every now and then as she gasped for air, it looked like she was choking, so I rushed forward trying to hold onto her when she swatted me away as she continued to breathe heavily.

"You're lying, that can't be true." She was in denial, which was understandable.

I gazed at her in pity, as she tried to process the information. "It's true Hannah, I won't lie to you."
