Chapter 43.Christian:“Now, for this place? I suggest we take her out of here. This house is prone to attacks. Literally everyone knows it now.” Matteo suggested.“Everyone knows it, but they just can’t attack because it’ll only backfire on them. You don’t attack Christian Adam’s home.” I confidently responded.“I totally understand. But there are buts, everything won’t always go our own way and that’s why we should get her out of here. The safe room just isn’t enough. She’s got to leave.” He added and I nodded.“Actually, I have thought of that. But, where is this safe place? I am certainly not taking her back to the convent, if that’s what you’re trying to say.” I stated firmly and Matteo let out a sigh. “But we have no choice. There is trouble looming, she can’t get hurt.” He probed.“And she won’t.” I cut in. I noticed Matteo’s serious gaze broke, he looked up behind me and I saw a wave of disdain sweep through his eyes. I immediately turned to see Astrid standing by the door.
Chapter 42. Celeste: I ran myself a warm bath in the bathtub. This was one luxury I lacked in the convent and I had realized I actually preferred soaking myself up in warm water for some minutes, it helped me cool off.I drew the curtains and carefully took off my bathrobe. “Oh, yeah.” I let out as I sank into the water. After staying underneath the water for some seconds, I brought my head out and rested it against the edge of the tub, as I soaked up the rest of my body. I shut my eyes to get a few minutes of sleep as well.I didn’t know how long I had slept for, until I heard some almost inaudible sounds. My eyes snapped open and I saw Christian standing at the mirror, applying gel to his hair, with just a towel wrapped around his waist. I gasped and sat upright in the tub, using my arm to cover my breasts and my private part in the best way I could.“What are you doing here?” I shrieked at him.“My hair has been dry lately, I only needed some gel.” He said without even turning
Chapter 41.Celeste: I subconsciously moved closer to Christian, it looked like we had been ambushed. “Christian, what is going on?” I whimpered, gripping his arms.“You had better surrender the girl and leave or your family will spend the rest of their lives trying to find your corpse.” The huge man threatened, but Christian seemed unfazed by his threat. “You’d have to say something better than that to make me surrender her to you, big boy,” Christian responded, looking amused.“You think this is some form of child’s play huh?” The huge man gritted.“If you say so.” Christian shrugged. The man nodded at the others and they began to close in on us. I trembled in fear. What was Christian thinking? Did he think he was some Messiah or something? There were about eight of them against two of us. “What’s going on?” I whimpered again.“Do not hurt the girl because of your decisions. Are you tryna seem brave to her? Forget it, you lost. Look, she’s frightened.” He said. Christian glance
Chapter 40. CHRISTIAN: "I have never worn pants before. I can't." Celeste nervously said, holding up the black pants I had given to her."Well, there is a first time for everything and besides, you're not in the convent anymore." I shrugged. She hesitated, looking confused. "I…I can't. It's against my faith. That dress is much better." She said, pointing to a blue silky dress."Are you sure?" I asked."Yes, please. I might bump into someone or something, but I have no intention of looking like a sinner so soon." "Oh, this means that you would want to wear it after some time right?" I asked and she immediately shook her head."No, no. Please. It's literally a sin. Stop trying to probe me, please." She responded and I lifted my hand in mock surrender."What are you waiting for?" She questioned after some time."Huh?""You have to leave, I need privacy to dress up." She stated and I chuckled."Don't flatter yourself, Princess. What makes you think I'm gonna look at you? Dress up, it'
CHAPTER 39.Christian: There was an intruder around. I had just gotten an alert from the security system that there was someone in my chambers. I took out my gun and held it closely, while cautiously looking around. I walked towards the kitchen axis. Few metallic sounds were coming from it. I tiptoed into the kitchen and pointed my gun at the person standing in front of the spice corner."Don't move," I growled and she gasped in fright."It's just me, boss." She said,"Turn around," I ordered, and she slowly turned to look at me. My eyes narrowed, she didn't look familiar at all."Who the hell are you? And how did you get in?" I questioned and she began to tremble. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." She suddenly began to cry. "I only needed the money to get surgery. This is the only time I have ever tried it and I couldn't, I swear I couldn't." She added and I raised a brow at her."Go on. Who sent you?" I questioned."I don't know. A note was sent to me, they know everything about me. I'm s
CHAPTER 38.CELESTE:I couldn’t believe Christian had just taken off his shirt in front of me just like that. It was my first time seeing the bare chest of any man, and despite the fact that I had barely seen it, I know what I saw was so attractive. I bit my lips, holding on to the sofa hard. I shook my head, trying to get it out of my head. But instead of that, I began to have flashbacks of that dream all over again.“Oh God, please, not now, not here.” I silently prayed.“Are you good?” Christian’s voice asked from behind me, and I immediately turned to see him standing there, still bare-chested. He had taken off his pants now and was putting on a pair of shorts. I turned around again, with a gasp.“Stop doing that!” I exclaimed.“Doing what?” He asked in feigned ignorance; he was obviously enjoying my dilemma. “Go put on a shirt. You can’t be naked in front of me.” I retorted.“I’m not naked, sweet pea.” He said in amusement.“You literally have no shirt on!” I argued.“I know. A
