Chapter 60.

Celeste:

I watched as Christian exited the dining room. He said it was nothing. I tried to force myself to believe that, but I just couldn’t. So, I went after him. I know I didn’t fully know my way around the house, but I knew that where he was going was definitely not the exit. It was a completely different block.

Did he keep captives here too? I felt a little scared. Was this the work he was talking about? I wasn’t even sure I could trust Christian anymore. I don’t know if I feel safe.

I saw some of the staff I could recognise, and then I realised it was the staff quarters. Before I could process further, Christian kicked open the doors of one of the rooms. I was frightened by his actions; I waited for some minutes before heading there as well.

On getting there, I wished I hadn’t come at all. I tried to leave, but I felt glued to the spot. Christian didn’t even notice my presence till he turned to go, and he looked so shocked to see me.

Chapter 63Celeste’s pov.I breathed a sigh of relief on seeing Christian. Astrid immediately let go of me and fell to the floor, and she began to scream.“You pushed me! How dare you?” She cried out loudly. I turned to Christian, who just stood, staring at us.“I didn’t push her, I really didn’t. She was just pulling my hair, and she threw herself down on seeing you.” I argued.“What the hell is going on? Why are you in my bedroom?” Christian asked; I thought he was talking to Astrid, but then I saw that he was still staring at me.“You told me to stay in your bedroom because…”“Shut up!” He cut in rudely, and I gasped in horror. I moved back, thoroughly frightened. What was wrong with Christian today?“It hurts all over, Christian! She’s so dangerous. Didn’t you say she was just a naive nun?” Astrid questioned, and Christian sighed.“I guess she just did a very good job hiding her true self.” He said.I couldn’t believe my ears. He helped Astrid up and supported her to the bed.“I’

CHAPTER 62.CELESTE:I sat on the sofa in Christian's room, nervously biting my fingers. I was so worried about it. I was worried about the convent finding out about it, Sister Theresa precisely. She had always wanted something like that to happen with me, and this was just going to prove her right.Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door, which was weird because Christian never had to knock on his own door. Or was he just trying to make sure he didn’t barge in on me naked or something? I immediately shrugged off the thoughts because I had absolutely no reason to be naked in Christian’s room. Or was it a staff? The knock came again, and I got off the bed to open the door. On opening it, I was taken aback. The person standing there was the last person I wanted to see and the reason for my current dilemma. Astrid.“Oh, it’s you. Our little sinful nun.” She remarked.“Christian isn’t home. What do you want?” I questioned, trying to prevent her from coming into the room, but that was point

CHAPTER 61. Christian:I walked to the garage, where I found Matteo waiting in the driver’s seat with a blank expression on his face.“How’s she holding up?” He asked, and I let out a sigh as I unbuttoned my wrist button.“I have no idea. She isn’t handling it so well.” I admitted it, and Matteo placed his head on the armrest.“She shouldn’t have found out. I expected this.” He replied.“Yeah, I was careless. But it doesn’t matter anymore, does it?”He was silent for some while before speaking. “We should get going. I have Zed’s work schedule here with me, and he’s got a business meeting in about an hour, which means we should be on our way now.” I nodded before getting into the car.Zed’s home was about twenty minutes away; he lived within the estate as well. He was just stepping out of his door accompanied by two huge bodyguards when we approached him.“Hello, Mr Zed. Could we speak to you briefly?” Matteo requested in a rather polite tone.Zed only spared us a glance in a very ar

Chapter 59Christian:I wasn’t even leaving my home; I headed straight to the staff quarters. The last time I went there was months ago. I wasn’t the boss that would want to know what they were doing every time; I was too busy for that. But whenever I did, they knew I meant business. “Good day, boss, it’s great to…”“Move out of the way.” I responded to the staff who tried exchanging pleasantries. I’m not cut out for that right now.I walked down the hallway, but I couldn’t spot the person I was looking for.“Do you need something, sir?” Another staff member politely asked, and I shot him a death glare, which made him move backwards in panic.“As a matter of fact, I do.” I stated.“Oh...alright, boss.” He stuttered.“Philip. Where is his room?” I questioned.“Room seventeen.” He pointed out with shaky fingers, and I revealed a sinister smile.“You’ve been very helpful. You may go.” I turned to the room he had pointed out, and I kicked it open. Philip had a toothbrush in his mouth as

Chapter 58.Christian: Spending the night with Celeste next to me was something I’d always enjoy. And for the first time ever, she actually snuggled up with me. Her soft snores sounded like music to my ears. The next morning, we were having breakfast together in the dining room when Matteo walked in. He had a serious expression on his face, but he softened a little on seeing Celeste.“Hey, Mr Bellanti, why don’t you join us for breakfast?” Celeste greeted with a wide grin on her face.“Um…thank you for the offer, Celeste. That is very nice of you, but I already had breakfast.” He forced a smile at her. “That’s okay. I would have felt offended if I made the meal myself.” She replied.“Well, I look forward to that. I’d definitely love to taste it someday.” The expression on his face was enough for me to know that there was something wrong.“Could you spare a few minutes?” He questioned, turning to me.I glanced at Celeste for a split second. “Uh…okay.” I responded, and she frowned.
