CHAPTER 16
The morning after rose with much more awkwardness than the day before. The 3 of them could hardly look at each other during breakfast while Aaron and Leonardo kept shuffling between them, passing on plates and cups. Thankfully, Zaden had a meeting with one of his managers and left for the city.
Orion practically ran away, keeping his distance from Selena. Every time he gets closer to her, her taste comes back to his tongue–futile consequences of yesterday. Eventually, they bumped against each other. She crossed her hands over her chest and leaned over the door frame, pursing her lips and raising her eyebrow. It made him fidget his hands and rub his neck. A quiet moment raised the thickness in the air even more. He understands that eventually, he has to face her.

“Wake up, sleepyhead…” Zaden blinked his eye at the sweet, yet assaulting voice. The usual coldness that comes with nightfall had dissipated with the sun, beaming on his back. She turned around and howled, stomping towards the woods. It doesn’t mean she has accepted them but it also doesn’t mean she rejected or intimidated by them. A single ray of sun sneaked through the curtains to harass Selena’s face. Her once pitch-black vision is now reddened. She slowly blinked open her eyes. Another morning–only today, she is a werewolf. She sat up on Daisy’s bed, and stretched her body till her limbs are weak and loose, demotivating her to take a bath. After a forced, long hot shower and dressing up in blue jeans and a black t-shirt, she went downstairs. At those last steps, a series of doors shut made her wonder what is happening outside. Weeks have gone by–3 weeks and 2 days to be precise. Nothing has changed much for the 3 of them. Selena didn’t attend her graduation. She took the certificate from Dean Pete and continued working at Wildlife Research Centre. Her mood doesn’t seem to have changed much. The sun's beam raises humidity. The village slowly gains life, hustling in their own patch of land while Selena is still bundled in Zaden's duvet. He smiled at the view before changing his dress and going out for his usual run. Taking her own sweet time, Selena woke up and dragged her heavy feet to her room, took a bath, and got ready as usual. She learned during breakfast that there will be a meeting in the communal room and her attendance is made compulsory. Makeala seemed very nice and informative, willing to help the newcomer. With a mission in hand, Selena headed straight to her room. She slammed the chocolate bar on the table before pacing back and forth for a few minutes. Weighing her options. Determination took over her as she wrung her hand and feet, mentally prepared. She then locked the door and took off her dress.
