I let out a sigh and kick at a can on the field before lifting my head to see just the woman who has me waiting. Karina is standing next to an unfamiliar guy with a smile on her face, and her books are pushed to her chest while her bag dangles off her arm.

RALPH. "You're here. " I smile, moving from my seat to give Ashley a hug before she slides into the seat across from me, while I settle back on mine. "Hey, Ralph. How are you?" She smiles, removing her glasses and leaning forward. "I haven't heard from you in a while. A surprise you called. " "Yeah. We've all been busy, haven't we?" Her eyes widen. "She is?" I push my head back. "You don't? I thought she'd tell you about that. " "No, she didn't.
