SINCLAIR.
"Hey you, " I smile at the sound of her voice as I climb into my car, and rest a hand against the steering wheel.
"I tried your contact like four times. You didn't pick. Where were you?" I question and what I receive is some movement in the background.
"Ashley?" I frown, moving the phone from my ear to see the line isn't disconnected. I push it back against my ear, and call out to her again. "Ashley?"
"No, um, you don't have to worry about that. You can hold it. " Her response comes, but it isn't for me. She's speaking to someone else, and that someone else sparks an annoyance through me when the damn voice of a guy comes through.
"Well, thank you for this, um– sorry I didn't catch your name earlier. "
"Ashley. It's Ashley Greene. " Is she flirting with some fucking guy?

VINCENT. I put my hands in my back pockets as I rock back and forth on my feet, chewing on my lips as I wait for a certain woman. I let out a sigh and kick at a can on the field before lifting my head to see just the woman who has me waiting. " Heather jokes as I round the corner with Sinclair by my side and I laugh before moving into her outstretched arms, and wrapping mine around her body. "It's nice to see you too, Heather. " I smile before pulling back but she keeps her hands on me. "You look so much prettier. " She compliments and I give her a shy smile. She lets her hands fall from my waist before leaning back against the wall with hands folded against her chest. "And I hope Sinclair didn't stress you too much?" She lifts her brows as she looks towards the said man who's busy in quiet conservation with Vincent. "Not a bit. I'm glad to be back here. I missed you all so much. ASHLEY. I wake up to Sinclair's head resting heavily on my stomach with his arms wrapped around me in a possessive grip that brings a smile to my face. I push my hand to his head and coil my fingers through his curls, cackling when he lifts his head slightly before dropping it and turning his face to the other side. The smile on my face is quick to be replaced with a frown at the remembrance of how my dad showed up and ruined Christmas for my family before it even started. Now, Vincent is nowhere to be found on Christmas Eve. My irritation for Ben grows by the second, rather than lessens with each thought that crosses my mind, and I find it annoyingly difficult to understand my mother. "Ashley. " I jump in fright; my eyes wide as I meet Arabella's gaze. She's standing beside the bed with a blank face and her hands by her side.

ASHLEY. "You're here?" Mom has a wide smile on her face as she leans against the door, and I nod with a small smile of mine. "We are. Can you let us in at least, Vanessa? It's so fucking cold. We all walk inside the house and I rub my palms against each other as Sinclair grabs the boxes from me and leaves them next to the ones Vanessa prepared. "Vincent isn't here?" Mom asks, and I turn to look at her. Sadness washes over her face as I slowly shake my head, but she's quick to cover it with a smile. "That's okay. I'm glad you guys are here.
