Sipping my hot coffee I pick up the contract. I had started looking over it in the afternoon but then Connor called me to join him at the club.

The task was simple. Enter the club, search for Connor and convince him to go home—which was hard as he was hell-bent on trying the French kiss with an Italian girl. By the time I was tugging him out the door and guiding him into the car, I was exasperated. It didn't help that he shot me a glare once inside the car acting like I was abandoning him.

I had called an Uber and was searching for the car when from my peripheral vision, I saw Evelyn. Shock froze me in place, but when I saw a guy was about to hit her, I was high on my feet.
