I CLOSE my eyes when I hear how hard Rachel slaps Edward.

With the force of that slap, I feel like slap penetrated my whole body. How could Edward have received that slap?

I looked at Edward. For the first time I saw that there was no joy in his eyes and his jolly demeanor was gone.

Edward stared into Rachel’s eyes.

“Just leave my presence and maybe I can do something else to you, you jerk,” Rachel ordered.

Edward looked at me first. “I’m going outside, ma’am. Just call me when you need me.”

I nodded in surprise. Even Edward’s lively and teasing voice I couldn’t see or feel at this moment.

When Edward came out of the dressing room, I approached Rachel. “What... What was that?” I stammered.
