CHAPTER 5: MR. VALCARCEL

CHAPTER 5

The butler gave me a kind smile, which suddenly made me terrified. I could tell that this man isn't someone I should mess with even though he looked friendly and looked easy to talk with.

He answered in a calm tone. “Don't worry, for now, I'm planning to hide it for a week so that you can familiarize yourself with the manor. Besides, Mr. Valcarcel has something important to do in those weeks so you don't have to worry about meeting him.”

Saying that I let out a relieved sigh as she smiled in delight, but then I suddenly remembered the content in the book about Mr. Valcarcel's important thing to do that week.

My whole body shivered just by recalling the content.

During that whole week, Mr. Valcarcel was in the torture room which was placed underground in the Valcarcel Clan and no one knows from the clan other than the butler knows where the torture room. I also don't want to know either. All they know was that Mr. Valcarcel could make someone lose their mind. Those who were sent to the torture room either come out with their limbs cut off or broken, lost their mind and sanity as if they can't remember who they were, or come out from the torture room as a corpse.

I, who read the content with data with filled details about what happened inside of the torture room, couldn't help but cover my mouth, seeming to want to puke but holding back. The whole content about what happened that week was gore.

I couldn't help it, it was too terrifying and looked disgusting, especially with my ability to create a vivid imagination just by reading a book which is why I could imagine those gore scenes and blood scenes.

I was warned by the author that the chapter contains bloody scenes, gore, and other scenes that aren't suitable for those who are eating but I didn't mind those warnings and happened to eat cookies while reading the content. I almost vomited everything that I ate that time because of the content that I read. It made me lose my appetite which made me lose two pounds that day but I still read it anyway out of curiosity, enduring my goosebumps.

That was the reason why I concluded that the title of the book connected to the content. All the characters in the books, except that small characters and passersby, are psychopaths!

I snapped back to reality when I heard someone call my name, which made me look at the butler who was looking at me with worry.

“Are you okay? You look pale." The butler stated and I let out a forced smile.

“I'm okay,” I answered politely, but deep inside, I was cursing that psychopath villain in my heart.

Seeing that the carriage has stopped, I glanced at the butler and asked, “we're here?”

The butler politely smiled at me and nodded his head. “Yes, we're here.”

After he said that, he walked out of the carriage, guiding me from walking out of the carriage.

I politely smiled at him and accepted his guidance as my eyes swept at the large wooden sign on top of the gate.

[ VALCARCEL CLAN]

I gulped down all my nervousness—I'm not the type of a person who got nervous easily because it's not my character to do so, however facing the home of a psychopath, of course, I felt nervous!

“Nervous?”

I heard the butler ask, making me shake my head in denial.

I moved slightly forward towards him and whispered at the butler. “Are you sure that the psychopath—I mean, the head of the clan; your boss, won't be here right? I won't meet him, right?”

The butler smiled at me and said with assurance. “Don't worry, you won't be able to meet him for now.”

I glanced at his smile and couldn't help but sigh inwardly. Sure enough, this butler is indeed handsome. Sure that the psychopath villain is also handsome since his butler is handsome. He can't be outshined for someone who's the head of the Valcarcel Clan and it was also described in the novel that this psychopath villain is a godly handsome that could make when or a woman get on their knees.

Though, they were just too afraid to approach him. I don't have anything to say about why those people are afraid of meeting the eyes of Mr. Valcarcel.

After all, he's a psychopath.

“You sure do call him a psychopath.” The butler commented with a chuckle, making my scalp shiver

I don't know why but even though the butler smiled at me, I felt that there was something else hidden behind those smiles!

As expected from the butler of that psychopath, sure enough, he's sharp.

I showed him my harmless smile. “You heard it wrong. I didn't call him a psychopath. How could a mere human like me call him a psychopath?”

The butler just laughed and didn't say anything, instead he toured me inside the manor.

I couldn't help but sigh at the scenery. Even the grasses inside of the clan were too green and healthy. There were even plants and flowers too. Everything around me was clean and I could tell that the servants or even those who were part of the clan had the habits of cleanliness.

“You like it?” The butler asked with a smile.

I nodded her head and didn't deny it. “Yeah, just seeing this view makes my mood lighter. It's refreshing to look at compared at the Marvick Clan too nauseating.”

“Then that's good to know since you'll be soon Mr. Valcarcel's woman.” The butler stated with a smile.

I unconsciously speak out my thoughts. “You're saying as if I'm going to be his concubine."

“Oh? You want to be the empress?” The butler teased with a smile on his face.

I snapped back to reality and looked at him with a smile as I shook my head. “It would be better to be a concubine so if he brings a lot of women, he won't notice me.”

Yes, that's right! It would be good if it's just like that! I don't want to associate myself with that psychopathic villain. Who knows when my death flag would be set up if I dare ever meet that villain who would be the one to kill me? It would be better if he wouldn't notice me so that I could do what I wanted and then secretly build my own company, then after I'm sure with my abilities, there's nothing that could shake me even that psychopathic villain and after that, I would file a divorce

It's a good plan! I am delighted by my idea. As expected of me.

This is the reason why I don't want to get married even in this life because I know that men won't be satisfied with only one woman, they would want to taste another dish and would want to catch different kinds of fish in the sea.

What I wanted is that if I would fall for someone in the future or want to be with someone in the future, I want that person to be loyal and faithful towards me, only me with no one else!

The butler, who heard my words that seemed to be wanting to run away if ever I meet Mr. Valcarcel, couldn't help but laugh.

“However, it seemed that your plan won't have a chance of happening.” The butler commented, making me look at him confusedly.

“Hm? What do you mean?” I asked while my brows furrowed.

What is he talking about?

The butler smiled mischievously. “Too bad, the boss that I served isn't that kind of person. If he would fall for someone in the future or someone could bring out his interest in her, his eyes and even soul would only belong to that woman. He's that kind of a man.”

I, whose plans and dreams suddenly shattered into pieces, almost vomited in blood.

My lips were twitching as I glance at the butler who was still smiling. My lips couldn't form a smile as she asked again for confirmation.

“Is it true? Is that source reliable?” I asked with my eyes squinted.

The butler who was still smiling at me, enjoying my expression, nodded his head and answered, “Of course the source is reliable. After all, I've been his butler ever since he was young. Trust me.”

Hearing the confirmation, I didn't know whether I should laugh or cry. Better cry instead.

Damn, my plans are already perfect but in an instant, it was shattered.

Wait, if what this butler said is true, then all I need to do is not do something that could make that psychopathic villain take an interest in me, right? After all, I looked like an ugly freak in Evelyn's family's eyes, then how much more about that villain? All I need to do is to hide and never dare to meet his path ever!

From what the novel describes as that psychopath villain, it was stated that he hardly leaves his room, right? Then the chances of meeting with him are low!

In an instant, I instantly recovered and gulped down my almost vomited blood.

The butler, who saw my expression change from depressed to happy, couldn't help but chuckle as he voiced his thoughts after knowing my plans.

“These days, I heard that Mr. Valcarcel was planning to get fresh air since he was always stuck inside of his room so I guess that after a week, he might be planning to often leave his room to view the scenery of his surroundings and also to check with his disciples to see if their strength improved.”

Hearing this, I was K.O-ed.

Just like a glass, I seemed to be breaking.

Is heaven trying to pit me?!
