Logan

When she was done with the phone, she put it back on the side table where she had taken it, avoiding my gaze.

The air was still heavy with sexual tension and I could tell there were things we wanted to say to each other but couldn't. So instead we both stood quietly, waiting for the other to speak first.

“When are we going to start making an heir?” I blurted out not oblivious to the fact that my words reeked of desperation.

She looked up in surprise. “Why didn't you say I would beg?” Her words held sarcasm now.

“For someone who doesn't want to be around me, you are sure enjoying this push and pull episode” I matched her energy as best I could. My voice was rough but at least my face didn't show how my bruised ego.

I walked towards her and she did the same as if we were daring each other . She came to a halt just inches from me and I could catch the fragrance of her hair.

Our breaths mixed together in the stillness of our proximity and for a split second everything was calm. The

  • SORRY, NOT YOURS ANYMORE    Confusion

MelissaWhen I woke up the next morning it was already mid-afternoon. I rubbed my eyes as I sat up. The sun was pouring into the room, I looked around confused. I had no idea how long I had slept, I got up and stretched a bit before heading into the bathroom. Once I finished my business and dressed, peeping first, I exited my room and started walking down the hallway. As usual, it was completely empty, which wasn't surprising considering it was almost midday. How did I oversleep? Where was Logan? He must have been somewhere right?“Good afternoon Ma’am” I heard a deep baritone voice greet me.Ma'am was too moderate for me.“Hello” I greeted back.“Do you need help with anything?” He asked.“It’s alright, thank you though,” I told him. He eyed me a little suspiciously before nodding and moving out of the way. But not completely, I know who he was. Why was he following me instead of following Logan, his employer?“Why are you still here?”“Boss ordered that I follow you around hencefo

  • SORRY, NOT YOURS ANYMORE    Wrapping

Melissa“Do you want me to wrap it up for you?” I wasn't looking at him, I only pointed at his bloodied fists.“You'll only wrap it if you tell me how you truly feel” he stepped in front of me, and his cologne filled my nostrils almost knocking me off my feet. His eyes examined the damage Father had left on me, and he muttered incoherently to himself.“Come with me” I followed like a puppet to one of the rooms down the hallway. I hadn't stepped into most rooms in this house and it was my first time here. It seemed like a store, he grabbed a first aid box, handed me a bottle of pain relievers, saying something about getting a pack of ice for my cheeks. Just when he was about to close it, I stopped him. He didn't budge so I took that as my cue. Although I hesitated, I didn't want him to flare up. I could still see the anger in his features. First I carefully cleaned his bruises with alcohol-soaked cotton wool, and his face didn't give anything away. Before applying ointment to them and

  • SORRY, NOT YOURS ANYMORE    Pumpkin

Melissa“You wouldn't take our calls or reply to our messages, was that how we raised you pumpkin?” He seemed to be grinning at me from ear to ear.I hated that word pumpkin. Every time they called me by it, they had a man waiting outside my room for me, men who pounced on my teenage body without care and made it seem like I'd spent my whole life in a cage, a little girl being forced to go through it all over again. They made my hair stand on end. I hated my parents for making me live with them, because every day I would wake up feeling their stares burning into my skin until they would finally leave the room to attend to something else.“What are you doing here?” I gulped nervously, wondering what could possibly come after this. This was the first time I had seen him in years and I was still scared of him.Grandfather had kept to his words, and Ellen was asked to step aside. It wasn't easy. She hadn't stopped calling my phone, she had not stopped texting curses at me, but I didn't ca

  • SORRY, NOT YOURS ANYMORE    Fixing It

Melissa“Ellen is not doing a great job, and you are not exactly fit yet” Grandfather looked like he was caught between a rock and a hard place.“There is nothing to worry about, I can fix it. You know I will give my life for your company to survive, don't worry about my health, just say the words” My face reeked of desperation, I needed a piece of my life back.“I will talk to Ellen. You know how she can be, I am not promising you anything, but I need you to promise me something as well” he said. “You have a strong heart Melissa, If anyone has the ability to bring this company back into the industry it would be you. But you cannot do it alone, that would leave too much room for people to find out. Do you understand? If there are rumours then it'll be more than difficult to prove that I did everything in my power to keep everything secret from the outside world. I can only ask that you promise me that there will be no more unpleasant surprises. You understand what I mean right?” Grand

  • SORRY, NOT YOURS ANYMORE    Hurt

MelissaIt was almost like…The blood drained from my face as I gasped and my head snapped away from him.She left a hickey on his neck and I was just seeing it.Initially it felt far-fetched but seeing Logan with a hickey that I didn't leave on him and the fact that his face was completely expressionless told me that this was real. It was too real. A pang of jealousy hit me so fiercely it took my breath, the thought of someone else touching him was unbearable. I wanted to claw my own skin off as soon as I thought about it. What was wrong with me? I hated this man, I wasn't supposed to feel bothered about any of this. But I was angry, why then did he ruin my perfect life when he could have just stuck with her? None of us would be in this mess.Yet he stood there looking like a perfect gentleman in a perfect outfit with his stupid perfect face. His perfection reeked of chaos and right now, I understood why.I moved past him to the room and when he got there , he didn't say anything t

  • SORRY, NOT YOURS ANYMORE    Loopholes

Melissa “What are you doing here?” I stared at her, surprised that she was here.“Maybe looking at a home that could have been mine? Maybe in search of the man who used to be mine? Maybe just in need of answers” She was wearing a pale yellow colored Gucci suit and black Jimmy Choo heels . Her hair, which had always been styled perfectly, fell loosely around her shoulders and her make up was done perfectly. I still sometimes found it hard to believe how beautiful she was.I felt a tug of guilt but it wasn't my fault, she would never understand . “No,” I stated firmly before turning to leave “You have no right to be here”She caught up with me just as I was about to close the door and grabbed the handle with her free hand, preventing my escape“Why?” She said, looking at me with sad, yet angry eyes “Do you think you can run away from me? Do you think you will be able to get rid of me that easily? I had been with that man my whole life. You could have picked any man from your endless sl
