CELINE

He pulled back and looked at me really, those green eyes searching my face with an intensity that made my breath catch.

Whatever he found there satisfied him because he nodded once slowly and his hands slid to my thighs.

"He touched what's mine," he said quietly. Not to me. To himself. Like he was reminding himself of a debt that required settling.

Then his mouth found my neck and everything else dissolved.

He was rough in the way that only Rythan could be rough, not careless, nev

  • MY ALPHA STEP BROTHERS ARE MY MATE?   CHAPTER 150: CLASHES

CELINE (wolf: Casey)She was forty minutes late.I knew because I'd been counting. I sat at my old desk with my hands folded on the surface, while Rita pretended to type and Keon pretended not to watch me. I'd told the triplets before we'd even stepped off the elevator. Kythan had opened his mouth, Rythan had started to protest, and I'd held up one hand.“ Stay in your offices. All three of you. This one is mine. If I need you, I'll ask.”Kythan's jaw had worked for a moment, and then he'd nodded once, stiffly, like a man refusing to back down. Zithan had said "Understood." While Rythan nodded.Somewhere under all that calm, the thought of the woman in the parked car kept scratching at the back of my mind. I pushed it down, firmly. One snake at a time. The elevator chimed.Cassandra stepped out in a cream blazer and heels sharp, a coffee cup in one hand and her bag swinging from the other. She was halfway through a yawn when her eyes landed on me.She stopped dead. The coffee cup

CELINE (wolf: Casey)(NEXT MORNING)The smell of fresh bread and cinnamon pulled me down the stairs before I'd even finished tying my hair back. The dining room was already full, and my father sat at one end beside his plate. Queen Uria was at the other, pouring tea. Zithan was buttering toast, Kythan was drinking his coffee. Rythan was in the chair beside the empty seat that had clearly been saved for me."Good morning, everyone," I said."Good morning, sweetheart," Uria sang. I crossed the room and kissed her cheek, and she squeezed my hand, her eyes glossy and warm. Then I walked around to my father, bent down, and kissed the top of his head. He patted my arm without looking up from his tea, but I saw the way his mouth curved.I sat down, and it hit me.It was quiet. Not the brittle, braced kind of quiet I'd used to, where every clink of a fork felt like a gunshot waiting to happen. This was a different silence entirely, loose and easy and a little sleepy. I looked at my father,

  • MY ALPHA STEP BROTHERS ARE MY MATE?   CHAPTER 148: LOVER BOY

CELINE (wolf: Casey)I turned around slowly.Kythan Blackthorne was standing in the middle of his own study, and he was blushing. It started at his collar and crept up his neck, a slow tide of red that reached the tips of his ears before he noticed and tried to pretend it hadn't happened. He dragged a hand through his hair. His sleeves were rolled to the elbow, the lamplight caught the hard line of his jaw, and his ice-blue eyes were fixed somewhere around my left shoulder.I had seen this man furious. I had seen him cold, cruel, and silent in ways that could freeze a room. I had never once seen him embarrassed.'The Ice King is blushing,' Casey whispered. 'He's also unfairly handsome. I'm only saying.' No doubt, Kythan was hot and handsome, but I didn't want to be carried so I lifted my chin."You said it was important. Or were you going to stare at my shoulder all night?""Right." He cleared his throat. "It's about Cassandra. Why I hired her?"I folded my arms. I'd been waiting we

KYTHAN BLACKTHORNE (wolf: Vexan)Nobody spoke for the first ten minutes of the drive.I kept my eyes on the road and both hands on the wheel, and I could feel every second of that silence pressing against the back of my skull. Rythan sat beside me with his head against the window, his face a strange mix of pale and stunned. In the rearview mirror, Celine sat in the back seat with her hands folded in her lap, looking out at the passing streets like she had just come from a stroll in the park.A faint red handprint was blooming across her left cheek.'Don't look at it,' Vexan said quietly. 'You'll turn the car around.'I know. My knuckles had gone white on the steering wheel. Every instinct I owned was screaming at me to find Dilala, to drag her out of whatever car she'd fled to, to make her understand with my hands what her palm had done to Celine's face. It was an ugly, primitive impulse, and it sat in my chest like a stone. But I hadn't moved. That was the thing I couldn't stop tu

  • MY ALPHA STEP BROTHERS ARE MY MATE?   CHAPTER 146: PAY BACK

CELINE"No," I said, without turning my head. "Sit down. Both of you.""Celine—" Rythan started, strained."This is woman to woman. If it stays words, it stays mouth to mouth. If it turns into anything else, it's human to human." My eyes never left Dilala's. "Nobody steps in. Nobody defends me. I'm not scared of anybody in this room."A rough exhale came from the door. The chair creaked again, and Kythan sat. Rythan lowered himself back, one inch at a time, every muscle in him straining against it.Dilala stood.I rose to meet her. The little table was the only thing between us now, a few inches of the wood and a bottle of wine, and I felt heat gathering along my collar, climbing my neck, pooling in my palms. It wasn't fear. It was something steadier and fiercer, a slow fire coming up from the ground.'There it is,' Casey said, almost reverent. 'Let it burn. The sound rang through the café like a gunshot. A fork clattered to a plate. Someone gasped. My head snapped sideways, my cheek

  • MY ALPHA STEP BROTHERS ARE MY MATE?   CHAPTER 145: LET IT BURN

CELINE (wolf: Casey)I walked into the Silverleaf Café at 11:58.Not early and not late. I'd decided that much last night, lying awake with Dilala's voice circling my head. She wouldn't get a single second of my waiting, and I wouldn't give her a single second of her own.Rythan walked beside me in a plain gray shirt, hands in his pockets, looking like a man on his way to a hearing. Kythan trailed us by a few paces with his sunglasses on and his expression shut like a door. Zithan had stayed behind at the mansion to do his thing, because he had some office files to attend to.The Silverleaf building was on the corner of Harlow Street, all glass and white trim. It was a pretty place. It looked like somewhere nothing bad could happen.'She's here,' Casey said.I knew before I saw her. Jasmine reached me first, heavy and a little too sweet, like someone who'd put it on in layers. My nose had only been working recently but it picked her out of the room like a spotlight.Dilala sat alon

CELINE I rushed downstairs with my bag clutched against my side, eyes glued to my phone as I tried to power it back on. My mind was still clouded, thick with everything that had happened in that room. Everything Alpha Zithan had done to me with his hands and his mouth and that devastating patien

  • MY ALPHA STEP BROTHERS ARE MY MATE?   CHAPTER 4: MATE PULL

CELINE The word detonated inside my chest like something physical. Mate! The pull struck again, but harder this time, coming from three directions at once, like invisible hands reaching into my ribcage and pulling simultaneously. My own hand rose slowly and I pointed a trembling finger at each

  • MY ALPHA STEP BROTHERS ARE MY MATE?   CHAPTER 3: MATE?

CELINE I stood at the top of the stairs and stared at the empty corridor where the cold-eyed man had just been. The warmth I remembered from this morning was completely gone. Stripped away as if it had never existed. Those familiar features, same dark hair, same jaw, same mouth — had looked at m

  • MY ALPHA STEP BROTHERS ARE MY MATE?   CHAPTER 2: THE CONFUSION

CELINE The moment I was finally outside that house, everything hit me at once. My knees nearly buckled. I grabbed the gate post to steady myself and then the first sob tore out of me, ugly and uncontrolled, and once it started I couldn't stop it. My shoulders shook violently. I pressed my
