NOAH
“We won’t go there,” I said with finality. I hurled her suitcase onto the bed and ripped it open, pulling out her things roughly. She tried to stop me, but I shook off her hand gripping my arm. Live at her fiancé’s house? No way! “Noah! Stop what you’re doing!” she shouted hysterically. She scrambled to pick up the items I was tossing, but I continued without pause. “If you don’t want to come, it’s fine. I won’t force you,” she said which only fueled my anger. I hurled the empty suitcase across the room. She flinched, stepping back instinctively. I had never felt this furious before, but I couldn’t hold it in any longer. She was rushing everything. Dad had died in a car accident just two years ago. How could she already be engaged to someone else that fast? Wasn’t she grieving only a year ago? “What? You’re gonna leave me too?” I forced a bitter smile. “For him? That motherfucking stranger you just met?” “Watch your words, Noah. Don’t call him that. He’s a good, respectable man,” she tried to reason with me. “Respectable? How can you be so sure? I bet you barely know him at all.” “I love him,” she murmured. “Love…” I repeated, incredulous. “How could you know love for someone you’ve only known for months?” She opened her mouth, then shut it again, saying nothing. “Don’t tell me you’d choose him over me…” She avoided my eyes, a heavy silence settling over us. In that moment, her answer was clear without a single word spoken. My shoulders slumped, the weight of disappointment settling over me. This is ridiculous. “Why can’t you just let me be happy?” “The point is, you barely know him! Don’t you get it? I’m worried about you! You’ve only known him for six months, and suddenly you’re engaged? What is this, some fairytale where love just magically works?” She was acting like I was standing in the way of her happiness when all I had ever wanted was to protect her. Her hand struck me, my head snapping to the side. I licked my lips, tasting the metallic flavor of my own blood. When I turned my eyes back toward her, her face was wide with shock. Her hand hung in the air, suspended, as if she couldn’t believe the blow she had just landed. “I-I’m sorry… I didn’t mean—” “Why is it so hard for you to choose me over that man? You weren’t like this when Dad was still alive. Tell me, what went wrong?” She shook her head slightly, tears threatening to spill. “Noah, you know how much you matter to me. But just because your father is gone doesn’t mean my life has to stop too. I want to be happy as well. Is that wrong?” Her words hit me like a cold wave. I opened my mouth to respond, but nothing came out. “I’m sorry,” she murmured. “I shouldn’t have assumed you’d understand me.” She walked out of the room after that, her footsteps fading down the hall, leaving me staring into the silence she’d left behind. Then I found out she got married the very next month. Just like that. “Behave, Noah,” my mom reminded me as we pulled up to her husband’s mansion. Even though we were still at odds, I couldn’t leave her alone in that house with him. Anything could go wrong, and I couldn’t bear the thought of losing a parent again. We stepped out of the car and walked straight into the mansion. My eyes roamed over the grand interiors as we passed through. Luxury was evident in every corner. Her husband’s wealth was obvious, and even though we were well off, it was nothing like this. Upon entering the living room, a man stood up from the couch. He smiled as he walked over and warmly greeted my mom. “Hey there, honey.” He kissed her cheek before his gaze flicked to me. “You must be Noah.” I nodded. “Good afternoon, Mr. Salvador,” I greeted, keeping my tone formal. “Cut the formalities,” he said, his smile widening. “Your mom and I are married. Call me Dad or Uncle, whichever you prefer.” Before I could even say anything, heavy footsteps echoed through the room, drawing all of our attention to the grand staircase. A man emerged at the top, dressed in a three-piece suit, his tall frame imposing. His arms were crossed, and his expression was stern. My stomach tightened as his gaze drifted across the room… until it landed on me. The boredom in his eyes vanished, replaced by something that sent a jolt of unease through me. His hooded eyes screamed danger. He looked like a predator sizing up its prey, as if he wanted to consume me whole. “That’s Kayden,” Mr. Salvador introduced, following my glance. “My son. Try to see him as a brother.” A chill ran through me as Kayden’s mouth curved into a subtle smirk. “I don’t like him as my brother.”This is where their story ends. Thanks to all those who have read this story and waited for every chapter until the end. P.S. After careful thought, I made changes to this story in some chapters, specifically chapter 146. (Though it does not really affect the overall plot of the story.) See you in my other works!
NOAH“Keegan! Nari! Stop playing on the stairs!” I shouted. They acted as if they didn’t hear me. Their laughter echoed through the house as they ran up and down the stairs, chasing each other. I turned off the faucet, wiped my hands, and hurried over to them.“Stop right now, or neither of you gets to play outside later. And no cookies either!”Their eyes went wide, and their shoulders drooped immediately.“Sorry,” they said in unison, their lips jutting out.I kept a straight face, even though part of me wanted to take back what I said because of how adorable they looked. They descended the stairs slowly, offering sheepish, apologetic smiles.“Sorry, Dad. We won’t do it again,” Nari said.“Yeah. I promise. Please bake us cookies—” His words caught in his throat as he misstepped and nearly fell. Good thing I caught him in time.I straightened him up and crouched down to his eye level.“See? This is why I don’t want you guys playing in dangerous spots. You’re way too hyper,” I lecture
KAYDEN “Don’t you dare hurt my son. Even in death, I’d rise from my grave to get back at you,” she said, her voice so serious that I couldn’t tell if she meant it or not. Tomorrow is our wedding, and just this afternoon, his mom came to visit, saying she wanted to talk to me. After another year, she had fully regained her mobility. “You don’t have to threaten me over something I’d never do,” I said firmly. “I’d rather kill myself than hurt him. You have my word.” The stern look on her face slowly melted into a wide smile. Leaning back in her chair, she gave me a thorough once-over. “Just so you know… when Noah was young, he was very vocal about the kind of family he wanted, including the kind of partner he planned to spend his life with. And I can tell you… things didn’t turn out the way he imagined.” “Why are you bringing that up now? Are you here to stop our wedding? Sorry to disappoint you, but there’s nothing you can do about it.” She gave a soft, elegant laugh. “You haven’
After we made love, we rested for a while before stepping outside. Dawn was breaking, and the sun was just about to rise. We settled on a large rock, taking in the beautiful view in silence. I glanced at him as he draped his jacket over my shoulders. He must have noticed I was feeling cold. “No, I’m good.” I was about to hand the jacket back, but he shook his head. He didn’t seem too cold himself, unlike me, so I let it be. “How do you feel?” I asked. “Right now?” I nodded, still staring at the horizon. “I don’t even know how to put it into words. Everything inside me feels tangled. You know… it feels unreal. I’m scared I’ll wake up one day and realize these were all just a dream.” “I feel the same way,” I smiled. All these years with him, life hasn’t been an endless loop of happiness. We’ve had joy, yes, but we’ve also hurt each other more times than I can count. With him, love isn’t only romantic; it’s grown with us. It has become secure, peaceful, and tender over the years
Days slipped into weeks, and weeks into months. Time seemed to fly. Life felt calm, almost unnaturally so, which made me a little anxious, wondering if some storm was still waiting around the corner. Still, I wanted to believe this peace could last. My mom was making good progress in physical therapy and could now stand with the help of an assistant. “Hey,” I called out to Kayden, who was focused on his laptop, fingers flying across the keyboard. I spun his swivel chair around to face me. He raised a brow. “What is it? Do you need something?” “I planned something for us. Just the two of us. No distractions. Just us.” For the past few months, he had been working nonstop. We both needed a real break. “When are we leaving?” he asked. “Tomorrow morning.” His eyes widened. “Tomorrow? I haven’t even packed yet—” He stood up, but I pushed him gently back into his chair. “I already took care of it.” “You did?” I nodded and tilted my head toward the corner of the room where his su
“You head upstairs first. I just need to take this call,” Kayden said as he loosened the tie around his neck. We had just gotten back to the mansion. He mentioned to me that Mr. Salvador hadn’t been home in a long time, so when he asked if I wanted to move in, I agreed without hesitation. As long as his father is not around, I am fine with it. I nodded and started making my way upstairs while he stayed near the main door, answering the call he had just received. I had barely reached the stairs when I noticed a maid rushing toward Kayden. “Sir,” she called anxiously. “Someone called. Said it was an emergency.” My footsteps immediately stopped. Kayden lowered his phone from his ear, his brows drawing together. “Who?” “The hospital. They said your father has been confined for three days already.” My eyes widened at the news. I quickly let go of the railing and walked back toward him. “Let him,” he said flatly, with not a trace of emotion on his face. The maid looked startled by h
KAYDEN Rage flared up in my chest the moment I heard someone tell Noah he should make out with someone. Who the hell was that asshole? I wanted to punch his face until it bled. My anger flared even more when he hung up. I tried calling him again, but he didn’t pick up. Damn it! I could tell h
“Welcome back, Noah!” Franco greeted me cheerfully. “Finally, I’m back at my job.”We came home earlier than planned. Our plans to spend the remaining days in France visiting tourist spots didn’t happen because I chose to go home so Dave wouldn’t pester me anymore.I know Kayden is still mad at me,
Kayden was on top of me. His hair was still wet, with water droplets falling. He didn’t bother drying it and immediately pushed me down the bed after we finished taking a shower together. He looked at me darkly, as if I were his prey for today. His eyes were filled with lust and admiration. His li
He didn’t wait a second to push me to lay back on the bed. He plunged his erection into my hole. I tried to catch my breath when he rammed in fast. He was gripping my hips tightly as he thrust fast and furiously. I was so full with him inside me.“Ah! Shit, Kayden…” I whimpered. “Ha…”I grabbed the
