SHE'S THE ONE

Andre drove back home and remained in his car. Just as he did the previous day, he used breath freshener to conceal the fact that he had smoked, and also sprayed some perfume on his body to ensure that Valerie did not perceive the scent of the girls he had earlier been with.

Afterward, he came out of his car and went inside the house. Valerie sat down on the bed in the room, reading.

When he came in and saw her, he said, "Hey, what's up?"

She stared at him and turned her attention back to the book she was reading without giving him a reply.

He knew that she was upset because of the things he had said earlier. He stood for a while, staring at her, and finally went to sit beside her on the bed. However, she still ignored him.

Placing his arm around her shoulder, he said, "I'm sorry, Valerie. I guess I upset you with my words. It wasn't deliberate. It's just that I'm not used to having other people go through my phone without my consent."

"But I told you I didn't go through your phone.
