Strange Feelings

Barbara quickly peeped out of the blanket, she didn't want her parents to quarrel. She quietly murmured to distract them, "I have no idea if the Young Alpha seemed to believe me or not. He is kind of hard to read." She saw that she had her parent's attention. "He really does not have a bad temper like people say, rumour has it that he is mute but he's not dad, he is not mute”. Mr. Hampton's eyes popped out in surprise, almost falling out while Mrs. Hampton became so quiet. “Yes”, Barbara contained. “He spoke to me today”, I was surprised as well but did not want him to notice I was. She smiled, remembering how handsome he looked mostly when he smiled.

What really amazed her was how he managed to remain calm when she had talked bad about him earlier. Not only had he remained calm, He even mentioned his disabilities nonchalantly. How could a boy be so unbothered? “Wait, he is not a boy, he is a young man” she smiled again but this time she was already sitting down. Seemed thinking about the alpha relieved her from the cold she was having. She was still lost in thoughts when Mrs. Hampton shook her, she totally forgot her parents were there with her. Are you okay Barbara, her mother sat on the bed just to confirm if her daughter was fine. Give me a minute, Mr. Hilary left them in case they wanted to talk about sensitive things. “ I am fine mum”, she repeated. I’ll join your father, “I’ll check on you later”, she helped her lay on the bed. “Now get some rest”, she gently walked out of the room.

She bit her lower lips passionately as she thought of his feel against her body when she had snuggled up to him earlier and what it will be like to have his lips on hers and his tongue buried in hers. “He sure looked very good for a crippled man, he does know how to take care of his body. He looked very manly and his body had been all muscled up and she wondered how he would look beneath his clothes, She whirled at the thought. Did she just picture a lame man? Fantasizing and thinking of how he was going to touch or kiss her. “What is wrong with me”? She screamed. “How can I be thinking of him this way”, oh my goodness. She dragged her blanket and covered her head. “Thank goodness those oldies did not catch me blushing”, she sighed.

"You said he was crippled", Her father asked and that seemed to wake Barbara from her sleep. She was just falling asleep. She opened her eyes slightly and saw her dad sitting by her bed side, she smiled gently. Yes dad, she tried to sit down.

"When you were in San Francisco, six months ago, I remember that you mentioned saving a crippled man" He squinted his eyes at her. "Don't you remember? Could he be the man you saved?" Her eyes expanded, her eyebrows shooting up. What! "So, you are telling me that the guy I saved is the young Alpha of the Nightwalker pack?"

So, the guy she had given her first kiss turned out to be the cold man who was also hot. The fine man who she was fantasizing about. Whom she longed for his kisses and touches. She traced her lips as she recalled the kiss that had totally blown her mind. Seriously how could they be the same person? She thought.

Hilary now sitting down beside his daughter on her bed. "The Feud in the Nightwalker pack is just so intense, especially among the alphas. The eldest and the second Alpha who are the closest since they both have the same mother conspired and deliberately drove the young Alpha to San Francisco away from the Nightwalker pack's mansion to know if his disability was real of if he was just attending. They had thought it was fake and had left him there." They didn’t care about his wellbeing.

"That's really terrifying." Barbara muttered, suddenly feeling sympathy for the young Alpha.

"Yes, it is. You were there when he fell into the river", He stroked his daughter’s hair. "He had been looking for you for the past six months”. I recently found out that the person you had saved was alpha Steve when I was informed that his beta, James Brian went to our hometown in San Francisco to look for you."

Barbara was astonished, she could not believe the information she heard. He had been searching for her? Why? Wait, why did she even care? She shook her head. "So, he really is disabled but he isn't mute?" But he didn’t look disabled to her, she waved off thoughts of him.

"As long as it's true that he is really crippled then I can feel at ease, I don’t have any problems at all. Don’t worry, your life will turn around completely when you get married to him." Mr. Hilary stood and pulled wife into his arms, she was listening to them this whole time but was trying to put somethings together in Barbara's room. Mrs. Natalie Hampton smiled, “Don't worry; at least everything is going as planned for now. Isn't it?" She smiled at her daughter.

Barbara was nodding when realization dawned on her, drenching her like the rain had earlier. "Oh my God!" She screamed.

"What's wrong?" Natalie asked rushing to her daughter's side.

"Somethi ... Ah chu!" She sneezed. "Something isn't right, James should have recognized me as the one who rescued the young Alpha in San Francisco when he saw me earlier, but he never mentioned anything about it."

Thinking back now, she remembered when James saw her, he was going to say something. Was it about her?

"Alpha Steve must have been very cautious hiding the fact he could speak, for there to be a rumour about him being mute. But how could he have talked in front of me, a total stranger. If not that he had recognize that I saved him!" Barbara was filled with suspicions right now and was confused at the same time,, what was his intention?

Then she remembered. "When I got off the car, he gave me his mobile number. Do you think he's messing with me? Maybe he already knew who I was and he was just playing a game to see if I would call?" Barbara glared from her father to her mother. "Don't you think this is too coincidental?"

Tension filled the room.

Although Barbara was quite a clever girl; she had no idea what to do, she had finally met he match, someone with more insight than hers.

The silence was broken by Nathalie; "If the young alpha really suspects anything, he is definitely not going to accept Barbara." She said solemnly, her face contoured with worry. "And if the young alpha declines, we are left with the other Alphas.

The second Alpha is too old for our daughter and the third Alpha is such a playboy, no way will I let him near my daughter”, Mr. Hilary reacted. Alpha Steve was still the most suitable among all the alphas and that was why her father had sent her to check if he was really crippled. The plan; which had been when the two families united, the Gillian family will get some share in the Moonstone pack's century old textile production business and the Hampton family would get some shares in the Nightwalker pack's oil business; all their efforts will be futile if the young alpha rejects Barbara. "What is going to happen now?"
