Chapter 43: Taming his demon

Jewel did not return to his room till it was afternoon. He had thought of going out of bed to look for her. It was not nice of her to have left him all by himself he thought. He had shoved the thought aside because he did not know what to tell her when he eventually found her. He waited patiently for her till he fell asleep.

Micah could hear footsteps in the room even when he was not fully conscious. He recognized the scent. It was Jewel and she had come with lunch. He opened his eyes to meet hers. She was staring at him.

"How do you feel now?" She asked quickly adverting her eyes.

"You did not come to see me " came his reply.

"Well did you miss me" she asked blushing.

"Not at all... I only thought that you would come" he said denying the truth even when he knew that they both knew too well that he was lying. He did not understand what he felt for Jewel. Perhaps he just enjoyed her company or her food or the little form of teasing she did to him.

"I brought you something to eat"
