Serena's POV

He looked like he was trying so hard to swallow a golf ball, and I admit, for a moment there, I thought I had overstepped my boundaries and gone too far. I thought he was going to slap me or something, but then he reached out and wrapped his hand on the partition glass.

“Yes, Sir?” the driver's voice came through immediately the glass was lifted.

“A slight change in plans,” Myles said. “Head over to the Silver Atrium instead.”

“Understood, Sir.” The driver replied, and the partition glass came down again.

I smiled but didn't say a word. I had gotten what I wanted. We were heading to the Silver Atrium, where he would be forced to eat even if it would be a small quantity, and then he'd rest, too.

You must think that I picked the Silver Atrium because it was the most expensive and the most luxurious restaurant in the town. You must think I wanted to flaunt wealth or something, but no, that's not the case.

The silver atrium was where even governors and presidents, and people

Myles's POV“What are you doing here?!” I hissed the moment I got to where she sat, grinning like an idiot.“I need air.” She shrugged. “Decided to come see you at work. I can say you handled that perfectly.”“What are you doing?” I frowned.“What?” She shrugged again like a child who was caught in mischief but ready to deny it all.“You're getting in my way.” I growled lowly, just loud enough for us to hear. “You're supposed to be out of my way!”“I'm not going to live like a prisoner in your house either.” She fired back. “I have the right to go anywhere I want, you know.”“Anywhere but here!” I hissed.“Relax...” She waved dismissively. “I just wanted to come see you at work doing what you love doing most. Or is it the other night stuff with the bike…”I gave her a cold and hard stare, cold enough to keep her mouth shut! This girl would be the end of me!“No one's listening.” She laughed. “No one's gonna hear us!”Except Murphy stood there across the room, staring at me without ev

Myles's POVI woke up very early, earlier than usual and left the house before Serena could wake up. I could say the reason why I fled the house so early was just to get out before she woke up, but the reason was different. I had a court hearing to attend.I finally stepped through the doors of the courthouse with a briefcase in hand like a weapon waiting to be drawn. My Italian shoes echoed across the polished floor as I walked past security and entered the courtroom where it would all play out.The press had shown up in droves. Cameras were stationed outside. Reporters were whispering my name with the same breath they used for blood and scandal gists. They weren’t here for the legal nuances of property law. They were here for the spectacle. For the righteous crusader attorney vs. the gleaming monster in a thousand-dollar suit.I spotted Murphy Murdock seated in the gallery just behind his legal bulldog…Sterling King.King was everything his name suggested. He was suave, slippery, s

Myles's POVI was deep in a case file and mentally occupied, going over Serena's theatrics, when the knock came at my door.“Come in,” I said without even looking up or stopping for a moment in my writing. The scratch of my pen stopped only when Anna stepped inside. She looked hesitant for a while.“Sir… Jonathan Monroe is here to see you. He says it’s urgent.”I paused. The name earned a sharp look of disgust from me. Jonathan Monroe, a congressman, public darling and a private bastard. What the hell was he looking for at my office?I leaned back in my chair with my fingers steepling beneath my chin as I let the silence stretch for a while before talking.“Show him in,” I said finally in a clipped voice.Anna gave a brief nod and vanished. I took my time closing the file in front of me while letting my posture settle into something colder and stiffer. I wanted Monroe to feel the coldness the second he stepped into the room. He deserved it.The door opened again, and in he came.Jonat

Myles's POVEmployees shuffled from foot to foot, with some bowing their heads like children caught in mischief. I silently glared at them, waiting for the mastermind to give themselves up.“I brought up the idea.” Naomi suddenly stepped forward nervously.“We... we did.” Damian joined her, looking just as nervous. “It was actually our idea.”I fixed my gaze intensively on them while they cowered nervously in fear.“With all the chaos going on, with the company's reputation at risk and only moments away from being tarnished, you had the time to plan this? What is it? A celebration for a wedding that almost turned to a blood bath?!” I growled.“We... we're sorry..” Damian stuttered. “We thought it would be a good way to ease off all the stress of the past few days.”“By celebrating when we should be putting on our war faces?!” I snapped.“We're sorry, Mr Voss,” Naomi said in a small voice. “It… It's never going to happen again.”“You're damn right, it's never going to happen again,” I

Myles's POV“You want something?” I asked with my brows shooting up questionably. She fumbled and shuffled around the spot almost as if she'd lost all sense of direction, and then she abruptly averted her eyes as if she was just seeing me for the very first time.“I.. I just wanted... I… I thought you'd gone out.” She said.“No.” I shook my head. “Apparently, I didn't.”She glanced at my body and awkwardly looked away again.“Are… are you going to get that?” She pointed towards the phone, still ringing on the table.“Mhmm.” I nodded curtly.“Ohh okay then.” She turned and bolted up the stairs as if she'd just seen something really horrifying.Women right? I told you I didn't quite understood this species. I sighed and grabbed the phone from the table. It was Anna. I answered the call and pressed the phone to my ear.“What's the matter?” I asked calmly.“Mr Voss.” Her frantic voice broke through the receiver. “I'm sorry for disturbing you on your wedding night. I know you're really
