To be blamed

Jule was ashamed of her actions. Her guilty conscience did not allow her to meet the shallowness in Brianna's eyes. She kept her eyes downcast and laid the food tray on the bed.

"Master has specially asked the chef to make bone broth for you. It has nutritional herbs to replenish your energy and strength." Jule forced a smile and passed the bowl to Brianna.

"Thank you." Brianna took the bowl and thanked Jule.

Brianna was not in the mood to savour the taste of the broth. Her thoughts drifted back to the day when all this had begun.

"Mistress, Mr Roy asked me to give this to you." Suddenly ule pulled out a folded paper from her pocket and handed it over to Brianna.

"This is?" Brianna held the paper, and her gaze turned suspicious.

"I don't know what the contents are." Jule arranged the dishes and left the room, knowing that Brianna needed privacy.

Brianna craned her neck to be sure Jule had left the premises of her room.

She unfolded the paper and started to read the contents.
