Three.

In Night Meadow Pack, it was taboo to sleep with a man that was not your mate, especially one you know you won't end up marrying. Most she-wolves did it, but they did theirs in secret without the knowledge of the whole pack.

Lupita, on the other hand, had to do what the Alpha asked of her and she knew very well that this would make everyone look down on her more than they already did, but she could only follow the Alpha to his room quietly without complaint and she did just that.

When they got to his room, the Alpha sat on his bed and watched her for a while. Her eyes were on the floor the whole time. She was praying for a miracle to happen.

"Look up at me," Romulus ordered. His voice was low and harsh and Lupita looked up immediately. Her eyes were red and glossed with tears already. Romulus smirked. He began to take off his clothes. Tears flowed from Lupita's eyes as he took off his clothes. He stopped when he had only his trouser on. He was well built and most females would have drooled but it was the first she was seeing a man this bare so she threw her face away.

"If you don't look at me, I'll bring out my knife, slice your body slowly into a thousand pieces, and feed on it."

Knowing that Alpha Romulus could do that in a heartbeat, she turned to him and he smiled smugly immediately she did. He enjoyed torturing her.

"Very good," he stood up from his bed and began to walk toward her. Panicking, Lupita took some steps backward. Seeing that she was trying to move away from him, Romulus hastened his steps and in the blink of an eye, he was standing before her. He was so close that their feet touched and Lupita froze. Romulus leaned closer to her, making breathing hard for Lupita.

With his nose, Romulus nuzzled Lupita's neck. Hot tingles went down her spine and her knees became weak. She almost fell but Romulus held her waist and stopped her from falling. He pulled her closer to him and gasped. He smirked, raised his head, and moved his mouth to her ear.

He felt Lupita's body stiffen. Alpha Romulus hesitated and knitted his eyebrows.

"Get out."

His voice was low, husky, and scary.

Lupita's face turned red. Nevertheless, she was grateful to be spared from Romulus so she scampered away without looking back.

"Lupita?" Maya looked into Lupita's room and saw her curled up on her bed, crying.

"Lupita," she called out sympathetically. After looking around to be sure that no one was watching, she went into the room and closed the door behind her. She went over to the bed, crawled into the bed, sat beside Lupita, and draped her hands over Lupita's shoulders.

"It's okay. Don't cry," Maya consoled and placed Lupita's head on her shoulder.

"Did he do something to you?" She asked, stroking her hair.

"No, he did not but everyone will think he did and they'll all see me as a whore and a sex object."

"Everything will be okay," Maya said, although she did not believe it. Lupita's life was a huge mess. She wondered why fate was so cruel to someone as nice as Lupita.

"It won't." Lupita broke into more tears. "It can only get worse."

Lupita raised her head to look at Maya then she moved away from her embrace.

"You should not be here. If someone sees you with me, it will be embarrassing for you."

Maya nodded at Lupita's words and got out of bed to leave the room. As Lupita watched Maya walk to the door, she wished Maya had refused to leave. She wished Maya had told her that she cared about her so much not to think of what the other werewolves had to say. But was she even worth another's love and care? She was a pushover, a miserable person, a weakling, an unfortunate she-wolf, a jinx, and a whore in the eyes of everyone. Who would love such a werewolf? She should be grateful to Maya that she pitied her.

As Maya got to the door, she turned to face Lupita, bade her goodbye, and smiled. Lupita smiled back despite how much it killed her inside to watch Maya leave.

Maya went out of the room. She sighed as she closed the door and when she turned around to leave, she faced Lilith and her two evil companions. Maya gulped and moved away like nothing had happened but the three of them rushed to her and surrounded her, trapping her in a circle.

"Why are you running?" Lilith asked with a smirk and they all giggled.

"I... I'm n... not running." Maya stuttered. Lilith and her companions closed in on her.

"But you visited your friend."

"Which friend?"

"Don't act dumb darling. We know."

Maya froze.

After a while, she heaved a sigh and maneuvered her way out of their tight circle, and began to walk away.

"If you move any further, I will embarrass you by telling everyone that you're Lupita's friend."

Maya stopped walking and she turned around to face Lilith.

"I'm not Lupita's friend. Maya felt a tight squeeze in her heart as those words left her mouth but what could she do? It'll be embarrassing for her if everyone knew that she was nice to Lupita.

"Everyone will believe me if I say otherwise," Lilith scoffed.

"What do you want?" Maya asked in a brittle voice.

"Just do as I ask you to and your reputation will be intact," Lilith said with an evil smile and Maya sighed in surrender.

"Attention everybody," Maya called out during breakfast. Lupita stopped mopping and looked at her friend standing before everybody. She wondered what Maya was going to say but she smiled at her anyways. Maya gave her a pitiful look instead of returning the smile.

"Good morning, everybody. I..." Maya paused. She did not want to do this. She recalled Lilith's first command.

How would she do that to Lupita? She remembered why she was nice to Lupita in the first place. Five years ago, Lupita saved her. That time, Alpha Romulus had just brought her to the pack. How Lupita had saved her was a story for another day but Maya knew that she owed Lupita her life.

"Talk Maya," Lilith said, gritting her teeth, eyeing Maya.

"If you fuck up, I'll make your life more miserable than that of Lupita's."

She shuddered as she remembered Lilith's threat.

"I have something interesting to tell you all," Maya finally said, feigning a smirk. Lupita's attention was fully gotten now. What was Maya about to say? Did she want to throw a party?

Lupita watched as Maya brought out a book from the bag across her body. She raised the book for everyone to see.

Lupita gasped. She recognized the book because...

It belonged to her.

It was her diary.
