“Agatha,” Gabriel said, “how do you know my mate?”
“She used to visit me most nights. I taught her early on how to dream walk. I think you were about two or three when you first started coming to see me,” Agatha asked looking at Emily.
“I’m not sure. I know that I was very young. I remember that you used to always have the best cinnamon rolls. You would always have some waiting for me. I know for a while I used to come just for the cinnamon rolls,” Emily said embarrassed.
“I know you did child,” Agatha said, smiling kindly. Her face was weathered and wrinkled, but Emily saw a lot of
“Hi Conri,” Emily tried soothing. “I’m okay. Look,” Emily said, wiggling so he would put her down and she could stand, “Agatha fixed my knee.” She demonstrated this by bending it a few times and doing a lunge. Conri calmed down a little but still scooped Emily back into his arms and buried his nose into her neck. He continued to make soft growls while breathing in her scent and grumbling. “Tried to take mate. My mate. Couldn’t get to mate.” “It’s okay,” Emily said, wrapping her arms around Cronri’s neck and shifting in his arms so that she could wrap her legs around his waist to let her look him in the eyes. “Agatha is my friend. She didn’t hu
Gabriel paced his room. He knew that his mate must be wondering why he ran out of the bathroom so quickly. How could he tell her that if he didn’t leave that second, that there was a high chance that he was going to join her in that shower. Gabriel growled just thinking about her being right on the other side of that door naked. He could just imagine the water sliding down her body when she lifts her arms up to wash her hair. The drops sliding down her chest, over her stomach, and down her legs. Shaking his head Gabriel pulled his shirt off and headed to his closet to grab something clean to change into as soon as his mate was done with her shower. Gabriel had to chuckle. Marcus would be ecstatic that he was taking time to grab clothes instead of being in his wolf form all the time and just shifting when needed. J
The whole time that Emily was getting dressed, she worried about what Gabriel and the others would think about what Agatha told her. Would they hate her because she is basically bringing a war to them? What about her abilities? How will she be treated if she really is as strong or powerful as Agatha says she will be? Will they still accept her if she is a lycan? Taking a deep breath Emily quickly looked in the mirror and realized that she was as ready as she was going to get. As soon as Emily stepped out of the bathroom she saw Gabriel waiting by the bedroom door for her. She could tell by his face that he was talking to someone. Emily hurried to his side since she is the reason that he was not already at the meeting. “I’m sorry that I held you up,” she said quietly. F
Gabriel was happy that everyone was supporting his mate and that no one was wanting to blame her for this mess with the hunters, but at the same time he did not like the fact that she was going to be in danger. He heard what she said Agatha told her about being strong and them gaining strength from each other, but she was not raised as a warrior or with her abilities.Even as cubs, shifters start simple training, and the training increases as they gain their wolves and age. Others gain and start using their powers at an early age too. Emily never got to use or even experience her power. She does not know how she will respond to the powers when she gets them. It takes years to master skills if you are not super powerful. With her being as strong as Agatha is saying, who knows how long she would really need to be in control of her abilities. Everything for her is based on what might or should be. Emily
Emily groaned as she tried to open her eyes. Her eyelids felt so heavy, but she felt like she really needed to wake up for something. Gathering her strength she was finally able to open her eyes. Blinking a few times and turning her head, Emily realized that she did not know where she was. Looking around everything was dark, but she could see at the same time. She was laying on the floor and the chair that she had been sitting in while in the conference room was on the floor beside her. She must have fallen out of the chair or it fell over putting her on the floor. Emily scrunched up her face trying to remember what happened. She remembered being in the conference room and then the hunter that was talking to them said that Lord Rotterford knew that she was there. She could understand if she fainted, but fainting did not explain where she was now and where everyone had gone.
“Yes,” Emily said, sitting up slowly. Her head felt like it was swimming, but she knew she needed to share what she had just learned. “I just met my grandmother. She said that she and Agatha were able to unlock my abilities.” Looking toward Samuel she said, “She is on her way. She is planning to be here by the end of the week.” Turning to her right she looked at Breanna and pulled her mother’s necklace and ring out from under her top. “She said that a tracking spell had been placed on these and to see if you could remove it,” Emily said showing the necklace and ring to Breanna. “Oh, wow,” Breanna said, letting Emily drop the necklace into her open palm. “These are beautiful. The center stone is moonstone and it has a lot of power stored in it. I bet a
Emily tried turning her head away from the light that was shining in her eyes. She turned her head to bury it further into her pillow when she realized she did not feel the softness of a pillow but instead heard rustling, crunching, and what felt like little needles poking her. As she began to wake up more she realized that her whole body felt sore and that she felt more little needles, rustling, and crunching as she stretched and moved her legs. Opening her eyes, Emily realized that she was laying on the forest floor.Sitting up quickly and looking around she did not see anyone, but she did see the large bloody carcass of some animal about fifteen feet from where she was laying. Emily looked down to see if she was injured and saw that she was completely naked. She did not have a scratch on her, but there was a large amount of blood smeared across her chest, stomach, and thighs. Looking at her hands
Emily was relieved that the trip back to the valley was uneventful for her and Rica. She felt bad that she had scolded Rica earlier for their adventure last night once she could feel just how happy she was being out and able to run. Rica almost seemed like a kid in a candy shop. There were a few times that they would startle a deer or rabbit, and Emily would have to force Rica to focus on getting back to the valley. Once all of this was over she would make sure that she let Rica run free more.Rica? Emily asked.Hmm? Rica replied. What was it like when you were locked away all of those years?Sighing Rica took a minute to respond. Do you remember whe
