Kennedi’s POV 

Running at full human speed took its toll on me, but I succeeded at getting away. No one followed me so I slowed my pace & stopped at a dying tree. It was dying early. It was only the beginning of October; it was still hot. I guess this tree was unusual. I walked up to it and placed my hand on its tough bark.
