80. Floating On Air

The office was unusually quiet throughout the day, the usual hum of productivity replaced by a heavy, contemplative atmosphere. Peyton, Carver, and Ava each found themselves drifting through their tasks, their minds clouded by the courtroom drama that had unfolded earlier. Conversations were few and far between, with each of them lost in their own thoughts, trying to process the events.

Ava, sitting at her desk, let out a deep sigh. She glanced over at Peyton and Carver, noticing their distracted states. “This day feels like it’s dragging on forever, doesn’t it?” she remarked, trying to break the silence.

Peyton looked up, offering a weak smile. “Yeah, it’s hard to focus on anything else right now.”

Carver nodded in agreement, his eyes reflecting the turmoil within. “Every time I try to work, I just keep replaying the courtroom scene in my head.”
