Later that evening.

Benjamin didn’t come home because he had to work the night shift.

So, Elizabeth and others had to eat what Kathy and other maids cooked, and they didn’t quite like it anymore. After eating Benjamin’s cooking, the food these maids made felt too inferior.

“Why does he have to work at night?” Elizabeth snorted. “Hmph, delivering pizzas to strangers is more important than serving food for us?”

Even though Elizabeth spoke so shamelessly, expecting Rebecca to say something in Benjamin’s defense, Benjamin didn’t say anything.

(Why doesn’t she stand up for her husband? Does she even care about him?) Elizabeth wondered. And this lack of response only emboldened into talking badly about Benjamin even more. “When he comes home, I’ll tell him whom he should prioritize!”

After dinner, everyone went to their rooms.

Selena then came to Veronica’s room and gave her a toy gun. “It makes some noise, but doesn’t do anything other than that.”

“It’s better than nothing, so I’m happy,”
