After continuing the resuscitation efforts for 30 minutes, Dr. Romano finally stopped the chest compressions regretfully as he checked for my vital signs.

"Her pupils are dilated, her breathing has stopped, and her heart is not beating anymore. Unfortunately, resuscitation efforts have failed."

He then glanced at his watch and told the nurse to record the time of my death. Then, he sighed heavily and tried calling Dario again.

However, Dario's phone had been turned off, and there was no way for the hospital to get ahold of him.

He tried thinking of calling someone else, but I didn't put down anyone else as my emergency contact besides Dario.

With nothing left that the hospital could do, Dr. Romano told the nurses to keep my body in the morgue and wait for Dario to come back and deal with it.
