My wolf was restless.

I couldn’t return to my room, not after meeting him, not after confirming his existence. I had to find out what pack he was in and fast.

That would be the start of getting him back.

The list of participants had to be with the receptionist in the lobby unless she had already taken it back to the Moon Cadence Council.

As I walked into the lobby, my eyes scanning the crowd in the hopes of maybe seeing him again, something suddenly hit me firmly in my chest. The searing pain tore through my insides, gut-wrenching and relentless, making my wolf howl out in agony.

I clutched my chest, placing a hand on the wall for stability when I felt my knees wobble slightly. What could be the cause of this? I had never experienced such pain before, why did I—my world stopped spinning when it dawned on me.

This wasn’t just my wolf being restless, or clawing at my spine as I had been experiencing lately; this was different and it tasted acrid in my mouth.
