I rushed into the restaurant to find Malric still at the table, with a glass of wine in his hand and a cigarette between his lips. I had no idea what the witch planned to do, so I didn’t want to raise an alarm about it. I slipped into my chair and his eyes flickered with surprise, as if he hadn’t been expecting me to return.

“Did you find your restaurant?” he asked slyly.

“Malric,” I whispered urgently, ignoring his mocking tone, “we have to leave this town, right now.”

He frowned and glanced around before leaning in, “Why?”

“It’s a long story,” I said and sucked in a whiff of air as I tried to catch my breath. “But we have to go right now, this town isn’t safe. Not for us, not for anyone.”

He rose to his feet, snapped his finger at the bartender and placed a note on the table. We walked out briskly, and he kept glancing behind to see if we were being followed. He snatched the hoodie off his head and shook his head angrily, “I knew it! I knew it! My father’s allies. They f

  • Scarred By My Alpha   Chapter 157

Lyra"The coven is weak now," she was saying, "it's the best time to attack. From what I know, both sisters are at loggerheads as it stands. With the power you will accumulate when you heal, it would be the perfect time to take them down." "And what exactly do they have to do with us, Andralita?" I queried, "why are they so significant?""If there is anyone that can reverse the spell, dear princess, it is the both of them, but the chances are quite slim now because they need to be united to make it work," she replied, "so, you know the people that do stand in our way now. Both witches, Malric and the primordial." I sighed and crossed my legs, my mind ensnared by my worrisome thoughts, "I have to focus on becoming the Alpha first, Andralita, before anything else. Once that is done, I will be able to think straight once more and we can tackle every problem we have. Besides, I already have men watching Malric and when I need to take him out, all I need to do is give the order." Sh

Malric "Yeah, we got to run."I shook my head grimly and rushed into the hut. I slipped on my shirt and dashed out again. The beasts were on to us, but the worst part of it all was that we were surrounded. They ran through the fire, beleaguering us all in a circle they formed around the hut. "Well, so much for a great plan, you know," I whispered to him as our backs hit the cold, mud wall of the hut. They were stalking us now, snorting and sniffing the air for any other person that could possibly be hiding. Chase had already drawn his sword, ready to attack. I squinted at them and suddenly remembered the event at the river. If my blood had cured them then, then I could certainly do it now, couldn't I? "Fetch me a bucket of water." I ordered in a voice I hadn't heard since I first departed Vantheir. Chase squinted at me, "What?""Water!" I yelled, "Hurry up."The man frowned at me, "What the hell is a bucket of water supposed to do?" he asked shakily. "You will find out." I re

Lyra "Oh...you poor, poor thing." Her voice crept up all the way from the base of the mountain like the wind, lodging in my head and disrupting the spiralling thoughts that plagued my wrecked mind. I couldn't rise from my knees as I stared at Eli's cold body, despite the blisters I had acquired. Everything in me seemed to have gone numb as the realisation hit me. I didn't have to be told by Andralita, even though I was aware she'd still sing it over and over again in my mind, I had lost the most important person in my life. "You actually did it," she said and I could feel that overwhelming presence of hers hovering behind me like a vulture, "You actually killed him. By goddess! I never thought I'd meet another psychopath like myself for centuries to come, but here you are, a carbon copy of the devil I was once." I sniffled, struggling to get over the anguish that strangled my heart. I never thought I had such sad emotions buried deep inside of me. They all seemed to burst out

Malric "So, you're sure they are going to attack tonight?" I asked, watching him place small logs of wood around the hut. "There is a probability, but what I am sure of is that in two nights, they will definitely be here." He replied, reaching for another log. I squinted at him curiously, "What's happening in two nights?" His eyes queried me, "Don't you know anything?" He asked, clearly unaware of who I was, "It's the night of a blood moon. Hardly any werewolf can resist a blood moon and it only gives those beasts some kind of adrenaline, like a boost in their hyperactivity. They destroy everything in their path." Chase brought out a gallon of petrol and asked, "Don't they do that every time?" The man shook his head, "Oh, no. I have been studying these things for quite some time now. On a few occasions, they just walk past settlements. As long as you stay indoors, you're safe, but other times," his eyes darkened, "they are out to destroy everything they see without hesitat

  • Scarred By My Alpha   Chapter 153

LyraFuck!I wasn't entirely surprised when she mentioned it, but what was the point of making such a sacrifice? What good could it possibly yield? What if it wasn't worth it in the end? What bloody difference would it make? I grunted, pacing around my room while I waited for him to arrive. What was taking him so damn long anyway? I wondered if I should tell him about what she had said, but damn it. Eli had suddenly become so judgmental recently, making me look like a psychopath when I was sure so many Alphas before me had done much worse. I was just trying to keep what was rightfully mine, but he'd make it seem like I was trying to destroy the entire world. If I told him about this sacrifice I had to make, he'd never look at me the same way again. Damn Eli and his fucking morals. I would keep this from him, but tonight was one of those dark nights I needed him to clear my head. I heard a knock on the door and I almost sprinted at it, but I held onto the window pane and in the m

  • Scarred By My Alpha   Chapter 152

LyraShe stood in a circle she had made with white chalk, her hair drawn over her face as usual, but I could see an awkward, golden glow in her eyes that reminded me of Malric. I stood squarely at the door to show her that I wasn't intimidated by that look and suddenly, I heard her chuckle, a humorless sound that sent a chill up my spine. "You are as desperate as your father was, child," she remarked, "and your own war hasn't even started yet. You've already started spilling blood, even of the innocent."I swallowed and managed to keep my expression straight, "Innocent blood? Oh, please. Drekka wasn't innocent. He was leading an act of treason against my pack by rallying against the sole Alpha's heir." "But you're the one who made yourself the sole heir, Lyra," she remarked, and although her voice was soft and thin, it sounded like a bomb exploding in my head. "You took your inheritance into your own hands."I frowned at her and shook my head, "That child didn't belong to my fat
