It felt good to be back home. Though it had only been two weeks since her departure, Afrah felt like she had been away for too long. She had missed the comfort of her bed, the darkness of her room and the coolness of the AC.
For once, everything was perfect in the world.
*Khalifa was parked outside the hotel when Adnan stepped out, wearing grey joggers and a black hooded sweatshirt. His hair looked disheveled, huge eyeballs circled his eyes and he was dragging his feet towards the car.He looked like a fashionable homeless man.
*"Will that be all?" Khalifa asked as Adnan returned to the car with a sour look in his eyes."Let's just go," he muttered, putting on his seatbelt. "I'm tired of this place already."
*To a soul which has never tasted grief, the sight of Afrah curled up on her bed would have seemed strange and unwelcoming. *Sa'ada's wedding was held on a Friday, the thirteenth day of the month. Superstitious people might have deemed it an unlucky arrangement, but for the most part no one seemed to care.As it happened, Adnan didn't attend the ceremony. He had chosen to book another appointment with the realtor on that same day, in order to take his mind off the fact that Sa'ada would be leaving him forever that day. He decided to invite Khalifa as well, and with s
*It took Adnan nearly three weeks to move in completely into his new home. The hardest part was getting the right furniture, a task which he had been looking forward to the least. After much consultation and multiple video chats with his mother, he finally found the right set for the entire house. It was only after the furniture had been brought in that he encountered another problem.
