Zahra's POV

Greg starts to circle me, his eyes locked on mine. I know his tricks, having sparred with him countless times, but he’s always a challenge. The man moves like a shadow and hits like a battering ram. My muscles tense as I anticipate his first move.

Just before he lunges, I move. Or rather, we move. Zanthe and I are in sync now, her instincts sharpening mine. We lunge first, faster and harder than I usually would, and I feel her power coursing through me. There’s no hesitation, no second-guessing. Every motion feels natural, precise. We strike as one, our movements fluid and fierce.

Greg blocks me with ease, countering with a strike of his own that sends a sharp sting through my arm. His wolf-enhanced strength is brutal, and I know he’s not holding back. He never does, and that’s why I’ve learned so much from sparring with him.
