Sylvia's POV

My father, Silas Larke, said to me, "The Werefang Pack has delivered their marriage proposal, but we have yet to decide on a bride.

"Sylvia, even though you're the one the Werefang Pack's Alpha designated as the bride, your older sister's the most beautiful woman in our pack. As such, she deserves to have the best possible marriage. I believe you think the same, don't you?"

Dad looked like he was asking for my opinion, but in reality, it was more of a statement than a question.

I reflexively looked at my mother, Daphne Willow, then at the calm-faced elders around us.

Everything about this was so familiar. It was exactly the same as what happened in my past life.

That was when I realized that I'd been reborn.

Just as I was about to reply, my older sister, Sienna Larke, suddenly stood up and said, "The Werefang Pack may be powerful, but their territory is constantly being threatened by Rogues. My health has never been the best, and our Starmoon Pack holds little clout.

"If I were to marry into the Werefang Pack, I fear that I may end up being bullied. Mom told me last night that the Moonfang Pack's trade division leader also extended a marriage proposal. I think he'd be great for me. I'll at least have a stable life, and he won't let me suffer."

She then looked at me gently and added, "Besides, this arrangement was always meant for Sylvia. If I were to take it away from her, it might strain our relationship."

The elders were all impressed by her magnanimity, and Dad nodded in approval as well.

It was only when she looked up to meet my gaze that I noticed the flash of triumph in her eyes.

My heart slowly sank, because I was finally certain that she'd been reborn as well.

Memories of my death in my previous life came flooding back once more. The moment she pushed me off the cliff kept replaying in my mind.

Since she wanted to take my place, I'd let her have her wish.

However, she was probably about to be disappointed by the cushy life she expected.

After a moment's thought, Dad fixed his gaze on me and said, "Since Sienna's willing to concede this marriage to you, I'm pleased to see her being so considerate."

Then, his tone changed. "In terms of conditions, the Werefang Pack is still the best choice. But I've heard that Cassian's mother is very assertive and notorious within her pack for being hard to get along with. Sienna, if you marry into that pack, I'd be worried you might be mistreated."

Even in my second life, my parents' attention was still on Sienna.

In my previous life, they even persistently tried to convince me. "The Moonfang Pack may be a little further away, but Jensen is handsome and mature. Although he's just a trade division leader, he controls quite a number of trade routes. After marrying him, you'll have your bread buttered for life."

However, they didn't know that Jensen Vance, the Moonfang Pack's trade division leader, was notorious within his pack for his ill temper. He also often frequented pubs and nightclubs.

Yet, my parents claimed that a man like him would bring me happiness.

Seeing that Sienna had already made her choice, Dad said nothing more.

Sienna, having received the answer she wanted, immediately stood up and left with a smile.

There was a spring in her step, as though she could already see the future she wanted.

On the other hand, Dad stopped me from leaving and took the initiative to speak to me for the first time.

"Sylvia, you should be grateful that Sienna let you have such a good marriage partner. Even after getting married, you two must stay in touch often.

"We've always been overprotective of Sienna. She's naive and ignorant of how the world works. Make sure you look out for her in the future."

My fingernails dug deeply into my palms.

Even if I'd been reborn, his words still left a bitter taste in my mouth.

The marriage arrangement had always been mine to begin with, but somehow, it had become a favor Sienna was doing me.

Ever since childhood, I'd always had to give in to her.

It started from something as small as toys and progressed to things as important as which school we attended. Now, I was at her mercy even on the matter of marriage.

I'd always have to wait until she'd made her choice before I got a turn.

We were both Dad's children, yet the treatment we received was like night and day.

Recalling my tragic fate in my previous life, I held back tears, lifted my head, and agreed.

"Okay. I understand."

Since Sienna had voluntarily given up on the Werefang Pack, I would accept this arrangement.

As for whether the other marriage would bring her the happiness she thought it would… Well, she would soon find out.

It occurred to me that even though I'd been at the Werefang Pack for so long, I hadn't shared a meal with Cassian. After tidying up my room, I went straight to his office to see him.I knocked on the door and heard Cassian say, "Enter."When he saw that it was me, he was slightly taken aback."Is something the matter?" he asked.I worked up the courage and said, "I'd like to have lunch with you."He chuckled and instructed his secretary to lay out the dishes on the table.I smiled too.
