Worst Fear

"Oh my goodness, Emily, you won't believe what Caleb did!" Isabella's voice brimmed with excitement as she talked to her sister on the phone.

Curiously, Emily inquired, "Tell me, Isabella, what has Caleb done now?" Emily's voice held a hint of amusement, knowing how much her sister adored surprises.

With a beaming smile, Isabella raised her left hand high in the air and proudly declared, "He bought me the most incredible golden diamond ring! It's a replacement for the wedding ring he initially gave me before which got lost." Isabella shifted her gaze to her hand again, adorned with the sparkling symbol of love. "I'm wearing it on my left hand right now. I'll send you a picture of it later today!"

Emily's voice carried awe and joy as she replied, "Oh sis, that's amazing! Caleb truly knows how to make your heart soar. I can't wait to see the ring."

"I know you bet, Guess where I am, Emily?!! I just stepped out of the most luxurious spa house. Scarlett treated me to a full body exfoliation, and it was heavenly, it was faster than I thought!"

Emily chuckled, imagining her sister's blissful state. "That sounds divine too, Isabella. You deserve every bit of pampering. How lucky you are to have your best friend, Scarlett, treat you to such indulgence."

Nodding in agreement, Isabella replied, "You're right, Emily. Scarlett is such a sweetheart. It had been months since I last exfoliated my skin, and she insisted on covering the cost. I'm truly grateful for having a friend like her!!."

"You really needed that exfoliation," Emily added.

Isabella let out a light chuckle. "You have no idea, Emily! My skin feels amazing now. I can't wait for Caleb to touch it and experience how incredibly soft and smooth it is." Isabella's laughter bubbled up, imagining the pleasant shock and delight that awaited Caleb.

As she spoke, Isabella couldn't help but imagine the playful banter that would ensue between her and Caleb. The thought of him being so captivated by her newfound radiance brought a twinkle to her eyes. She playfully added, "Who knows, Emily? Maybe he'll be so entranced that he'll end up devouring me whole tonight!" She said and burst out in laughter, her laughter could be heard loudly by passers by.

Four years had passed since Caleb and Isabella exchanged their wedding vows, and their love story had its humble beginnings in Isabella's father's Company, Sinclair Stock Investment. It was Caleb's first year working at the stock company, fresh out of college, while Isabella had just graduated from college which they dated for three years before tying the knot.

Caleb possessed a tall stature, complemented by his brown hair and captivating brown eyes. His face, adorned with a gentle roundness, His masculinity exuded a charming aura that drew others towards him. However, Isabella's affection for him extended far beyond his physical appearance. She adored Caleb for choosing her, despite her perception of herself as simply average in terms of looks. Unlike the alluring girls around her, Isabella did not possess the sexy figures often sought after. Nevertheless, Caleb's love for her remained unwavering, appreciating her for who she was and becoming the embodiment of her ideal partner.

What endeared Caleb to Isabella even more was his embodiment of the qualities she had always dreamed of in a partner. He was not just a loving husband to her, but also her biggest cheerleader, always approving of her choices and encouraging her to pursue happiness. In Caleb, Isabella found her perfect ideal type, the embodiment of everything she had expressed to him in conversations about her desired qualities in a life partner.

Their love had blossomed within the walls of Sinclair Stock Investment, where their colleagues often referred to them as the love birds of the company.

Isabella, driven by her love for Caleb, made the selfless decision to step aside from her rightful place as CEO and instead assumed the role of Company Manager, fully giving her rightful place as CEO to Caleb Lancaster.

"Emily, I'm heading to Delgado Corporation now to get Gabriel's signature for the collaboration contract," Isabella informed her sister over the phone.

"Alright, sis. Talk to you later," Emily replied, ending the call. Isabella took a deep breath, gathered her thoughts, and stepped into her car, ready to embark on her new mission.

As Isabella arrived at Delgado Corporation, she walked through the bustling hallways, her mind focused on the task at hand. She eventually reached close to Gabriel's office and paused for a moment, taking a deep breath to steady herself with the documents in her hand. However, as she approached the door more closer, she unintentionally overheard her name being mentioned in a conversation inside.

"Isabella Sinclair again! Get over it, bro," she heard someone exclaim. Intrigued and slightly taken aback, Isabella couldn't resist the temptation to eavesdrop further. She discreetly pressed her ear against the door, hoping to catch more of the conversation. Yet, as if sensing her presence, the voices inside abruptly fell silent, leaving Isabella wondering if they had noticed her lurking outside.

After a few seconds of hesitation, Isabella decided to knock on the door. A voice from within invited her in, and she took a deep breath, pushing the door open. Stepping into the office, her eyes landed on Gabriel Delgado, her childhood friend, and Xavier, Gabriel's best friend. Their faces wore neutral expressions, giving away no hints of the conversation she had just overheard a little.

Confusion and curiosity filled Isabella's mind as she stood there, unable to shake off the nagging question that had surfaced within her. "Why was my name mentioned?" she wondered silently, her gaze shifting between Gabriel and Xavier, hoping to find answers in their expressions.

But there was none. Immediately Xavier swiftly rose from his seat, a warm smile adorning his face as he closed the distance between them " Mrs Lancaster!! Good to see you!!" He said, extending his arms for an embrace.

Isabella's brow furrowed slightly, shocked by his unexpected enthusiasm. Nevertheless, she reciprocated the smile and embraced Xavier, " Good to see you too Xavier"!! Isabella replied but then silently grappled with the lingering curiosity about the overheard conversation.

Her gaze then shifted towards Gabriel, and their eyes met. There was an intensity in his gaze that sent a shiver down Isabella's spine, making her acutely aware of her own presence in that moment. An array of emotions danced in Gabriel's eyes softness, passion, and an allure that stirred something deep within her. For a fleeting moment, Isabella felt her resolve waver, but she quickly reminded herself of her commitment to her husband, Caleb Lancaster.

As Isabella silently wrestled with her internal voice, she took a deep breath, steadying her thoughts. "I'm married, Gabriel, I don't care if you like me or Not" she whispered to herself, her voice a firm reminder. " But Don't seduce me with that look." She reaffirmed her love for Caleb, a steadfast commitment.

Maintaining her composure, Isabella released Xavier from their embrace and took a step back, her smile now masking the turbulent thoughts swirling within her. With a composed demeanor, she addressed the room, her voice projecting a sense of professionalism. "Gabriel, I'm here to obtain your signature for the collaboration contract."

Gabriel's expression shifted to one of businesslike focus immediately, masking the fleeting intensity she had glimpsed earlier. "Of course, Isabella," he replied, his tone neutral and detached. He motioned for her to take a seat, swiftly transitioning from the emotional gaze they had shared moments ago.

After the collaborative agreement was signed by both Gabriel and Isabella, a sense of tension lingered in the air. Isabella rose from her seat, gathering the important documents from Gabriel's desk. As she looked up to meet his gaze, she noticed a softness and affection in his eyes that hadn't been present while signing the contract. Curiously, she posed the question that lingered on her mind.

"Gabriel... why the change in your expression?" Isabella inquired curiously. However, before Gabriel could respond, his eyes averted from her gaze, focusing instead on the paperwork across his desk.

With a faint smile, Isabella mustered up a bit of awkwardness, attempting to break the tension. "Well, um... have a nice day, both of you," she added. Sensing the need for distance, she turned and made her way out of Gabriel's office, leaving the unanswered question hanging in the air.

"What was all that for?" she asked herself, before leaving Delgado Corporation. She couldn't understand the motives behind the recent events about Gabriel's gaze with fewer words.

Driving home, Isabella parked her car and approached the entrance door of their house. As she reached out to type in the password, she noticed that the door was slightly ajar. shock hit her. Could a thief have broken into her matrimonial home? But upon closer inspection, Isabella realized that the door wasn't scratched or damaged. Besides, only Caleb, her husband, and Emily, her sister, knew the password. It must be Caleb, she thought, or perhaps Emily.

"I bet Emily can't wait to see my beautiful ring!" Tenderly, she brought her hand to her lips and planted a loving kiss on the ring.

Taking a deep breath, Isabella entered the house and scanned the living room, but there was no sign of Emily. Determined to find out what was happening, especially considering Emily's history of borrowing her jewelries instead of purchasing her own.

Isabella made her way to the bedroom. As she approached the door, strange sounds reached her ears, moans, the unmistakable sound of skin clapping, and voices. Her heart sank, and confusion, Shock, and disbelief hit her.

Isabella's world turned upside down as she heard those shocking words reverberate through the room. Her heart skipped beats, with a surge of panic.

"More baby daddy, mo……re….!! Take it….all….., hit that pus…sy… harder, it's all yours….. Fuc….k…." The implications of those words sent a chill down Isabella's spine.

Tears welled up in Isabella's eyes as she clutched her hands together in desperate prayer. Trembling with fear, she pleaded, "Please, Lord, it can't be Caleb. Please, Lord, not Caleb. Caleb is loving and faithful. Please, let this be a misunderstanding."

Every step she took forward felt like an eternity, her legs quivering beneath her. The thought of confronting the truth terrified her, but she knew she had to face it head on. With fear and hope that it won't be Caleb Isabella mustered the courage to move closer, her heart pounding in her chest.

As she approached the source of the moans and unsettling words, Isabella's mind raced with a whirlwind of emotions. Doubt, confusion and a desperate hope for a different outcome battled within her. She prayed that her worst fears wouldn't be realized.

Taking a deep breath, Isabella steeled herself and pushed open the door. The scene before her unfolded like a nightmare. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she witnessed the sight that had immediately shattered her world.
