MEGAN’S POV

By the time the lawyer arrived, it was already dinner time. Then Alex and his mother invited him to stay for dinner before we got down to business.

“Alex, I am sorry for what your father did to you. I asked him about it when he made his final will and even tried to persuade him, but he would hear none of it.” Alex frowned; I could see that he was annoyed by what the lawyer said.

He better stop that nonsense and let this damn dinner go smoothly before starting his nonsense. If he wasn’t so useless then his father wouldn’t have left everything to Kane.

“It’s alright Mr. Lewis. My father was a stubborn man, if he made up his mind nothing could have changed it. I believe you did all you could to convince him.” Good boy, now he is learning.

“Yes, your father was very stubborn, but your mother here is nothing like him.” He then smiles at Alex’s mother as if there was something going on between the two.
