The darkness enveloped me like a suffocating blanket as I stirred from my restless slumber, a sense of unease gnawing at the edges of my consciousness. Something didn't feel right, a nagging feeling that whispered of impending danger.

I glanced at the clock beside my bed, the numbers glowing faintly in the dim light of the room. It was the middle of the night, the world outside shrouded in darkness and silence. But despite the late hour, sleep eluded me, my mind plagued by a sense of foreboding.
