I shoved Preston's shoulder with both hands.

"Get up," I whispered. "You need to hide. Right now."

He didn't move. He looked at me with that expression he always had, like everything was mildly entertaining and he was in no particular rush.

"We're sneaking around," he said, keeping his voice low. "This feels a lot like an affair."
