CHAPTER 6

OLIVIA'S POV

"Please, I beg of you! Please! Don't, please!"

His eyes were blazing red as he approached me with the table knife in his right hand.

I begged for my life as he got closer, holding the knife up high to stab me.

His heart was stone cold and his frowny face made me realise I was already done for.

He was going to take my life that very day and moment.

"No oooooo!!!" I screamed out of my sleep, my face covered with sweat as I panted heavily, trying to catch my breath.

It was like a horror movie and I was about to be killed by the monster.

The monster in my dream was Liam and he still haunts me.

I can't seem to forget his beatings and how I ran from him around the house to save myself from being killed.

Those scars are still there, physical and emotional. I am still traumatised by them.

I looked around and I had to remind myself I was no longer in that house.

I stared at the curtains and the beautiful light that pierced through the entirety of the room.

I smiled and sighed. I became calm at once.

Andrew Huxley. His name echoed in my head and gave me goosebumps.

The apartment he got me was a well-furnished and decorated house. The nice art drawings hung on the wall also complemented the colorful paintings and it was a cool sight to behold.

Thank God I met someone like him at this time of my life. He is indeed an angel sent to me.

I wonder how depressed and.........

My phone rang aloud.

"Oh my, it's Andrew!"

Seeing his name on my phone sent shivers down my spine and it felt like whatever sadness was left in my body vanished that instant.

I remember him saving his name on my phone. He stared at me with his pretty eyes and I looked away shyly.

Something about his hair too. I didn't get to feel the texture but loved the way it looked on him.

I breathe in and out to calm myself before picking up his call.

"Hello, Olivia," His voice resonated smoothly through the speakers.

"Hi," I responded in a sweet tone and paused to hear him out.

Even though I was excited to receive his call, I needed to compose myself for him.

"How are you settling in? I hope everything is fine over there?" he asked.

"Yeah, everything is fine. I just had a bad dream but it's fine now."

"Well, I am coming over so we can talk about that dream and some other thing. I'll be there in an hour, "he answered.

I didn't say a word until the call disconnected. Everything still seems to be a surprise.

"How can one man be so sweet?" I thought. "I feel so fortunate to have met him!"

I couldn't stop telling myself that.

For some reason, my thoughts drifted towards Stella. Even though she proved how best friends can turn against each other, I still miss her.

I miss having a girlfriend to gist and tell things. I just hope she is fine with Liam wherever she is.

"Or wait, was he like that because he was with me? Could Stella be the woman he wanted all these while and I was just there for him to use and pass the time?"

"What's wrong with me? Why am I even so bothered about all of that now? I'm so done with him."

I cautioned myself immediately and went inside to freshen up in anticipation of Andrew's visit to the house.

It's almost an hour and he would be here anytime soon.

I went to the closet in the room and picked a green dress adorned with stones at the bottom.

Andrew made an order for different clothes to be delivered to the house. I smiled as I stared at them.

I smiled as I looked through the clothes one by one.

Green was my favorite color so I went for that. "This should look perfect on me," I said as I swung myself around with the dress in front of the mirror.

I dressed up, powdered my face, and sat on the couch waiting for the honk of his car.

It was already an hour and he was still not there.

"What's happening?"

I checked my phone to see if he had called but nothing of such.

"Was it possible he forgot he was coming here?"

Perhaps I should call him.

I rang his phone several times but he wasn't answering them.

"What could be the problem?"

"Maybe he is driving," I said to myself.

I started giving myself several reasons for him.

Suddenly I heard a loud bang on the door.

"Olivia, come and open up this door!"

That didn't sound like Andrew. Why would he shout at me like that?

"I know you can hear me. Open up this door now!"

It was Liam. My heart skipped a beat.

I don't understand.

"What is he doing here?"

"How did he know where I was?"

"Was this about the dream I had this morning?"

"Has he come to kill me for real, now?"

I paced around for a while clueless of what to do. I decided to open the door.b

"Whatever happens, happens. Moreover, I was close to death already before Andrew decided to save me,"

"If this is the end then so be it!"

I opened the door and Liam entered, pushing me out of the way.

"I see, so this is where you are. You think you can run from me, uhnnn?" He shouted.

I became scared. I can't believe violence has found its way here again.

Just when I thought I was at peace. "What are you doing in my house, Liam?"

"Your house? How funny. Anyway, I am not here for that. I need you to pay up your father's debts"

"Since you are so rich now and you even have a house," he said mockingly.

"Pay up now else I would call the police on you and believe me you will rot in jail, you slut!"

"Slut? Are you serious? I am the one being treated badly and cheated on. I am the victim here. How dare you call me a slut?"

I have no time to argue with you. You still think this is a joke right? Wait and see.

"Please, come in and take her away."
