CHAPTER 34OLIVIAI became emotional. Not in a bad way.Thinking of Andrew as I sat comfortably in the chair. No one had ever respected me this much.Or showered me with so much care.I haven't even given my body to him. Even a kiss, he hadn't gotten from me.Yet, the attraction, love, and care never for once diminished. One would think I charmed him.It surprises me also how he kept loving me and showering me with gifts.Everything I had always wanted or wished for, he made sure he got for me firsthand. Was I giving back the energy and love I am enjoying from Andrew?I pondered as I sat there.I kissed him yesterday.Right after he asked me to be his. That was the first time we would share a kiss.It was quite lovely as he placed his hands on my cheekbones and kissed me passionately in the kitchen. My thoughts made me forget I was in a serious meeting. But I snapped out of it immediately the table was set.Still at the company’s branch, and the whole team staring at me in anticipat
CHAPTER 35LIAM"She gets away with everything?""That bitch?!"Nope. Not happening. I won't allow that.Until I get what I want!Is Elliot messing with me or what?We ought to be seeing results by now.The threats seem not to be working as planned. We left a note that should scare her but nothing still.Perhaps some intensity should do the job.I rang Elliot's phone that instant."What's the update?""Any good news at all?" I asked over the phone."Your wife likes good things. Despite the note, she still hung onto my brother. She is a stubborn one," Elliot complained."If she doesn't feel threatened by that note, then we need to be more specific with it. We need to disturb her peace," I replied."Meet me at the usual spot later tonight to discuss that. Remember to make sure you are not being followed," Elliot answered and ended the call."Proud ass mother fucked, meet me at the….blah blah blah!" I mimicked."If not that I need his help, I wouldn't mind doing this myself. I wouldn't n
LIAMPffffffff!"What is wrong with this girl?""Isn't she aware I have a lot of things on my mind right now?""She can't be fainting anyhow. I am too busy for all this," I muttered as I strolled to the hospital ward.I was told to get food for her in case she woke up.The Doctor claims she will be so famished when she wakes up.I wonder what is wrong with her now.The last time was a wild stunt to get Olivia's attention. Now who knows if this is just to get me to sit down with her rather than be with Elliot? She had been suspecting I and Elliot were dealing with something secretly.I know how much she would want to be hinted about it but I made sure not to let out a word.I got to the ward and I met her wide awake, caressing her belly. What was wrong?I imagined. It dawned on me that I hadn't spoken a word since I got in.I just stood there, looking at her.The nurses seemed to be so focused on her.I wonder why that was so if it was only a slump and faint case."What is all this?""
STELLA"What's going on?""Why does my head feel so heavy?"I looked around and I felt like the whole building was upside down.Blurry visions, headaches, and all sorts. All at once I rent my head like they own it."Ma'am, you would have to be coming on the scheduled appointment to see the doctor," the nurse who stood beside my bed, said.I was still puzzled by the whole thing.Am I pregnant?Does he know? How would he take all of this?I need to make a call. Can I make a call? It's quite important," I said to the nurse who was in the room with me.Just before that, he walked in."Hey Liam, you are here," I greeted."What is this trash I am hearing, Stella? You are pregnant?""That wasn't the deal.""What are you saying? So what would happen to my baby?" "Oh come on. You are not a child. We both know I can't accept that kid from you. It can't be mine!" Liam responded in a loud tone.He paced around. The nurse walked out gently when she noticed the unsettling atmosphere in the room.I
Olivia's POVI don't know why I have to live this kind of life. For years I thought I would end up in a loving marriage but here I was, fighting for my life daily. I hated this life I was living but I felt I had to hang on. I couldn't just give up like that. For the past six years, I hoped, prayed and thought everything would be better by now but Liam only grew worse day by day. I groaned in pain as I searched around for my phone. I made sure I was as quiet as possible. I didn't want to give away my hiding spot. I have taken enough beating and insults for one day. As soon as I reached my phone, I dialled Stella's number as fast as I could, with my hands trembling. I squeezed the phone to my ears as though it would make her pick up the call earlier than normal. "Hey, what's up Olivia?" Her bright voice said from the other end of the phone. "Liam started again. He even hit me worse than the last time." I said, sobbing gently and I heard her sigh from the other end of the phone. I fe
Olivia's POVI sat still in the corner where I was as the basement door flew open. I could hear his footsteps as he descended the stairs, and turned on the light. I held my breath, silently praying he wouldn't find me but it wasn't answered. "There you are my little mouse." He said as he grabbed my feet and dragged me from underneath the stairs where I sat. I raised my hand in defence as he squatted before me. "You look all bruised."He saw my swollen ankle and shook his head. "A sprained ankle too. Let's get you to the hospital." He said with a sweet smile and I crawled back. "I promise, I won't raise my hands on you. I am sorry for hurting you, let me just take you to the hospital.""So you'll beat me up again after? I'd rather die from this pain than be treated and get beaten again." I said, crawling back under the stairs but he grabbed my waist and threw me over his shoulder before carrying me out of the basement. "Let go of me. Put me down." He didn't listen as he carried me in
Olivia's POVI couldn't quite register what happened after that but I felt someone lift me from the ground as I slowly lost consciousness. I hoped my child was okay as I slowly fell into total darkness. The next thing I knew was waking up with beeping sounds in the distance. I didn't know where I was or what was happening, I just knew I felt pain in my stomach. "Olivia, can you hear me?" I heard the doctor's voice slowly coming nearer and I fully opened my eyes. "How are you feeling?" She asked and I pointed to my stomach. "My… my… child." I managed to say and the look on her face told me everything I needed to know. I shook my head in denial as my whole world came crashing down. "I'm sorry Olivia, your fall affected the child and the child couldn't make it." She said to me and tears rolled down my eyes. This couldn't be happening. The slightest hope I had to hold on to was gone, again. "I told you about Liam, Olivia. If you've listened, maybe your child would still be alive now."
Olivia's POVAnd again, I woke up to sounds of beeping but this was more than a machine. I felt different tubes connected to my body and there was an oxygen mask on my face. "She's awake. Call the doctor." I heard a voice say and a few people in white rushed in. "Miss, are you feeling any pain?" The man asked me as he checked up on me. I slowly shook my head and he took the mask off my face. My breathing was slow and it took me a while to finally get used to breathing. It felt like I hadn't done it in years. "What happened?" I asked."You were hit by a car and you have been out for over two days." He explained to me and I looked at him, stunned. "A young man brought you here. He isn't here at the moment but he paid for all your medical bills."I looked around the room and just by the look, I could tell it was a VIP ward and would have been very expensive. "Since you are not feeling any pain and just went into a shock, you should be okay in two days and be ready to be discharged." H
