AVA.

I watched as my father dropped to the ground twitching, the gash in his neck spilling blood like a liquid tap.

I watched as he switched his eyes to amber willing on the powers of his wolf to try and heal him from death which was fast approaching, hovering over him like a harbinger of doom.

I watched as he failed the gash too wide and too deep for his healing powers to kick in.

I watched as his eyes turned from amber back to human, the light slowly fading from them.

I watched as he tried to call out to me, yet no words formed, his mouth opening and closing like a fish that had just been drawn out of water and was craving oxygen.

I watched as he stopped struggling and lay still, his eyes wide open. My rock, my cornerstone, dead.

I just stood there barely believing what I was seeing praying, hoping that I was in some kind of bad dream, praying that I would wake up any moment from now realizing everything had been just one heck of a bad dream.

Zane stood there watching me, his eyes dark and dangerous as blood dripped from his claws touching the ground in fat lazy drops.

My father's blood.

What happened next I wouldn't remember for a long time but I knew I was running towards Zane, screaming in rage, my wolf seeking revenge, my being seeking murder.

I was going to kill Zane, I was going to kill Cassie and I was going to kill anyone who was going to step in my way of seeking retribution.

Zane stepped back waiting for my attack and I jumped on him before he could push me away, fueled by anger driven by rage I slashed across his throat with my claws in the same manner he did with my father.

Three long gashes appeared in his throat but he had stepped back so the wound didn't go as deep as it should.

I wasn't done yet dropping to the ground, I swung my leg in an arc as my right leg connected with Zane's foot and he toppled to the ground. Half crawling half running I moved towards him as he moved backwards. Propelled by rage I grabbed another silver knife from the boots of my shoes and climbed atop him.

Zane's eyes widened as soon as he saw me lift the dagger, I didn't waste time. Plunging down I watched as his hands came up in defense and the dagger sliced into his palm sizzling hot as a trail of smoke followed suit.

Zane roared and tried to push me away but I pulled out the dagger and brought it down again as he threw up his uninjured arm for cover the dagger entering into skin just as easily as it had done with the first hand.

"You killed him, you killed him you killed him you killed him" I screamed as I brought the dagger down again and again and again on his arms which I had pinned to the ground.

Lifting the dagger once more I went for his heart and before the dagger reached his exposed chest I felt myself fly backward off his body before the tip could pierce the skin of his heart.

I hit the ground the breath knocked out of me, and before I could get my bearings the dagger was wrenched out of my hands and arms wrapped around my armpit pulling me up.

I struggled against the hands that were holding me but the grip was like a vice.

Zane was on the ground struggling to get up but he couldn’t as I had damaged both his hands with the dagger. He kept trying but to no avail as his hands hung useless by his side

I considered shifting to finish the task. Zane had taken something away from me and now I was going to take something away from him.

I started the process of shifting, feeling my bones rotate and shift just before something sharp slid into my shoulder liquid fire spreading across my body.

I groaned as the shift momentarily stopped, blood sporting from my lips as my knees hit the ground and when I peered down I could see the metal point of a gaffer sticking out of my shoulder.

The arms that were holding me released me, fighting against the pain in my next shoulder I tried to stand my eyes still fixed on Zane who had managed to stand by the help of Katharine, a female Beta who had entered the scene.

I felt another sharp slice of pain in my left shoulder and I was suddenly aware of the fact that I couldn't move my hands. They just lay limply at my side unmoving.

Then the pain kicked in traveling from the tips of my shoulder blades to my whole body filling me with liquid fire. I gritted my teeth against the pain bit it was unbearable and in the end I cried out tears leaving my eyes mixed with the rage in my heart.

They had killed him, he was only protecting me and it was all been my fault, all my fault. I needed to finish Zane or die trying.

I tried to get back on my feet but I couldn't even move a muscle in my body. They must have laced the dagger with some sort of venom

Zane was standing now without the support of Katherine who was standing by his side her eyes roving around the carnage that had just unfolded.

"You want to kill your Alpha?" he spat blood running down from his useless arms.

I wanted to do more than kill him. I wanted to kill him, bring him back to life and kill him again. He had no idea just how murderous I had become.

The Beta who had been holding me, who was also the same person who had stabbed me, stepped into view and I could we it was one of my father's drinking buddies, Luke.

"I'm sorry" he murmured. "But we can't let you kill the Alpha."

"Back away" I snarled at him tears filing my eyes.

“He killed your friend and yet you protect him. You’re a coward” I spat.

He didn't move and just then I could see the silver dagger tightly clutched in his hands.

"You've broken a law in the world of us werewolves and that law is punishable by death" Zane said his voice strained with the effort it took him to talk.

"And your sentence shall be passed here and now. From this moment you are declared dead."

I could barely hear Zane's words, my eyes fixed on the figure of my dead father, the tears finally leaving my eyes. I was ready to go, there was nothing more left of me.

I heard the Luke mutter another apology and lifted my head upwards. I saw the dagger flash in my eyes as the tears left my eyes falling down my cheeks and tickling my jaw.

I fixed my eyes to the sky watching the distant stars as the blade sliced across my neck, the pain was fleeting and instant then darkness enveloped me like a blanket.

AVA.I just sat there in shock staring at Cade who looked back at me with n nothing but coldness in his eyes. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.“You?” I said disbelieving what I was seeing. He said nothing but kept on watching me no expression on his face, nothing.“Cade here would be responsible for the final process of your death. He is going to inject his blood into you and from there we can proceed with what needs to be done.I closed my eyes refusing to believe that was I was seeing was true, refusing to believe that Rykers brother wasn’t just standing I front of me about to lend a hand to tis witches on my own death.“Please let me go “I said opening g my eyes, fighting back the tears that were threatening to spill through.“I’m afraid that isn’t an option” Eve hissed.Miriam gave a nod and the two women close to me bent a

  • Second Chance with the Hybrid Alpha   Final Plan

AVAI just stared back at Eve noting the way her eyes shone like she had just won the lottery.“Did you hear me Ava; I said I’m going to have Ryker kill you.”Of course I heard her but I didn’t want to acknowledge what she had just said. I didn’t want to show her the fear that was coursing through my body.“Why?” was all I could say as my brain wrapped around what Eve had just said.“That’s a good question. Miriam must have told you that she does not have any personal vendetta against you but I don’t want you to believe what she says for even a second, I do have a personal vendetta against you”Eve paused and paced around me her footsteps making thumping nooses in the floor of the cell.“I don’t know what gave you the audacity to think that you could just waltz into Ryker's life and suddenly act lovey dovey with him. When I’m done punishing you, you’ll never have a taste of what isn't yours.”“Ryker doesn’t belong to you; he has the right to chose whom he should remain with.”I knew I

AVA. For some reason whatever Eve had put into my body was preventing me from using my wolf powers. The more I remained in the darkness of the cell the weaker and weaker I got. Occasionally Eve would come in and taunt me while I kept quiet and just listened without saying a word. I was more interested on what I was going to do, what steps I was going to take to make sure that I escaped from her clutches without any harm. What she said yesterday still haunted me, echoing in my head like some sort of phantom bell. If Eve and Miriam were indeed serious about creating this so called witch hybrid that they talked about it meant that they had to kill me first in order for the spell to work. Apparently I had a mate somewhere who wasn’t dead and as long as I lived it posed a problem to the spell. Yet something kept bugging me at the back of my head. If I had a mate, how come he had a child without me and how come the both of us had been separated? Now that I was alone in the cell and tho

I was starting to get restless now and with each minute that passed I could feel myself getting more and more angry. It had been two hours since Cade had left the pack in search of Ava and I haven't heard anything from him. All my attempts to reach him had all proved abortive. Grimacing, I rubbed my hands on my face trying to quell the shift that was beginning in me whenever I got angry. "Relax Alpha if Cade is true to his words them we only have to trust him and wait for now" I knew Tao was trying to get me to calm down but his words only seemed to agitate me even more. "It's been hours, he hasn't called back or said anything. If you were in my position you'd feel the same." "Maybe there is traffic," Tao offered. I threw him a murderous glance and Tao raised his hands in surrender. "Fine, I give up on cheering you up." I took a deep breath once again trying to calm down the beast that was fast rising within me feeding on my restlessness and anger and felt it subside. "There

AvaI stare shell shocked at the woman in front of me. From the silver color of her hair to the harsh black of her eyes and as she looked at me, I knew instantly that I could recognize that face."You?""Yes, me in body and soul" she chuckled."You know I'm quite surprised that you can remember who I am although Eve here tells me that you somehow lost your memories."I could member her quite alright, images of a pack flash behind my eyes, of me walking with this woman beside me talking and laughing. There was another woman walking close to us but the memory was hazy. I couldn't picture the other woman clearly."I find it very interesting that you are not able to remember most of the people who you were very close to before your death and yet you can remember me.""Are…are you not a wolf?" If she was in my memory just now. In the pack I had just remembered then she had to be a wolf.Miriam drew away from me a huge grin on her face."I stayed a while in your pack but that dosnet mean I

I opened my eyes to a steady clinking sound that seemed to grow louder with each second. I was aware of a floating sensation and when I looked below me I could see my feet were scuffing against the ground below me.The clinking sound that persevered was coming from the chains that held my legs steadfast. I felt arms under my armpit and looked to my side to see two figures dragging me forward, one on each side of my arms. In front of me was Eve moving forward, what looked like a blow torch in her hands. There was a faint ringing sound in my ears and I still felt dizzy. I just lay there limp in the hands of the two figures who are dragging me forward.A dull throbbing pain follows in my head as I crane my.neck to the aude to see where we were. All I can see is dark
