Chapter 295

Author: Cloud Drop
Before Aria could react, Fifi tilted her glass hard, sending a wave of red wine straight toward her chest. It wasn’t subtle—she was clearly trying to make a scene. Aria flinched, but it was too late.

But before it could, another glass suddenly swung in from the side and struck Fifi’s with a sharp clink.

That elegant, pale hand gripping the stem was unmistakable. Even in a split-second, Aria instantly recognized it—Archer.

With a casual flick of his wrist, graceful and controlled, Archer redirected Fifi’s glass away with barely any effort.

Aria steadied her own glass just in time. The deep red wine swirled violently but didn’t spill. She exhaled in relief—no scene, no mess.

Fifi, however, wasn’t so lucky.

The wine that was meant to splash Aria now sloshed backward—straight onto Fifi herself. Caught completely off guard, she had no time to react. Archer’s move was so fast and unexpected, no one could intervene.

Red wine streamed down the front of her custom cocktail dress—an elabo

Aria let out a frustrated breath. Fifi had clearly tried to splash her with wine, and now she was flipping the story to play the victim.“We’ve attended the wedding. We’ve got other things to handle, so we’ll head out,” Archer said calmly, standing at the table without even the slightest change in expression. He looked as detached as if this weren’t even his sister’s wedding—just a stranger’s.Robert’s face was frozen in a grim expression. If he’d known things would blow up like this, he would’ve made them leave the moment they walked in.No one said a word. Archer reached out and took Aria’s hand. His grip was firm and steady—lean but strong, making her feel grounded.Aria didn’t argue or object. She followed his lead the whole time, silently going along with every decision he made. When the two of them reached the hotel entrance, they ran into Ethan, who had just stepped out of a car. Seeing them together, he froze for a second. He knew Archer was bold, but he hadn’t expected hi

Lilian was seething. She’d overheard people at nearby tables whispering that the man who walked in hand-in-hand with Aria wasn’t just anyone—he was Archer Duncan, the eldest grandson and heir of the Duncan family. And now, the two of them were openly together.“I can’t believe Aria turned out to be this kind of woman,” Lilian muttered, unable to let it go. Her eyes stayed locked on the couple who clearly had no regard for the occasion, practically glued to each other. “Back when Mark liked her, she wouldn’t give him the time of day—chose to chase after that useless Larry instead. And now she’s divorced and clinging to Archer? She really does only go for rich men. How fake.”With Mark having married the daughter of a prominent family, the Simmons were enjoying more attention and social status than ever. Relatives were suddenly eager to curry favor, and Lilian’s confidence had swelled. She wouldn’t have minded if Aria ended up with someone else—so long as he was ordinary. Someone now

Fifi’s eyes had been locked on Mark from the moment she entered. For a while, she’d forgotten all about Aria. But when she saw that Mark was watching her, too, something inside her finally relaxed. Something inside her quietly eased. When he said the words “I do,” Fifi felt her breath catch. Her eyes welled up, and for a moment, she thought she might cry. When it was her turn, she didn’t hesitate. “I do,” she said firmly, exchanging rings with Mark as the guests looked on.From her seat, Aria watched the scene unfold—ring exchange, soft music, gentle vows—and found herself wondering what her own wedding with Archer might look like one day. The thought took over her mind, and her eyes drifted, unfocused.Suddenly, a sharp squeeze on her hand brought her back. “Ow,” she winced softly. She turned and found Archer staring at her—not angry exactly, but his eyes held a teasing sharpness, laced with mock disapproval. The hand that had been holding hers now slid around her waist. He gave

Fifi let herself be pushed back into the chair by her mother, though her expression remained tight. No matter what Yvonne said, she couldn’t force a smile.“Come on, give me a smile,” Yvonne coaxed, trying to soothe her. She waved the stylist back in to fix her makeup. “Mark’s waiting out front. You don’t want him seeing you like this when you walk down the aisle, do you?”“Mark’s already here?” Fifi’s face shifted instantly. “Did he see Aria?”“No, of course not,” Yvonne said, confused by her reaction. “The ceremony hasn’t even started. He’s just waiting by the entrance.”It took effort, but they eventually calmed Fifi down. Yvonne stayed close, not daring to leave her alone again. When someone finally came to escort the bride to the aisle, Yvonne accompanied her to the red carpet entrance, where Calvin Chancer—Fifi’s father—was waiting to walk her down the aisle. At the far end, Mark stood beneath the floral arch. The wedding march hadn’t begun yet, but his eyes were already sca

“Enough,” Grandpa Duncan finally spoke, setting down his teacup. “They’re already here—just let them sit. It’s a wedding, not a battleground.”With that, Robert could only grit his teeth and fall silent, though his expression was still dark. But there was another family at the table whose faces looked even worse.Kandice reached over and tugged lightly at her mother Sandra’s sleeve. They couldn’t say anything in front of the others, no matter how furious they were. Sandra’s eyes flicked back to the Duncan table, then gave Kandice’s hand a quick pat, signaling her to hold it in.---Meanwhile, in the bridal suite, Fifi was having her final touch-ups done when there was a knock at the door.Sophia Walker walked in, smiling brightly.“Fifi, you look beautiful today,” she said, giving her an approving once-over. “They say the bride is always the most stunning in the room—and it’s true.”“Thank you,” Fifi said with a cheerful smile, her dimples showing. “Is everything going okay out
