Chapter fourteen

The atmosphere was tensed as soon as I walked into grandfather's office. He shot me a glare throwing the file he was holding at me. Several pictures fell out and I immediately picked them up seeing the familiar faces on it.

"How did you know?" I asked as I scan through picture by picture. I needed to know who was fool enough to spy on me and my woman and even report to grandfather.

"Is that what you're worried about you rascal. Shouldn't you be worried about the damages this could cause if it gets out," Grandfather stomp his cane angrily on the floor.

"You and I know this isn't some big deal. You can easily handle this. Besides why are you talking as though you didn't steal someone else's woman. You literally kidnapped grandmother on her wedding. So you are the last person I expect to complain." 

"You rebel. I will disown you. You dare talk back." 

He raised his cane to strike me but I simply stepped aside, ignoring him and going to take a sit by the fire side. I held a picture of Ayanna and her husband, gritting my teeth at their closeness. The stupid man, Alexander held her by the waist while Ayanna was looking at him as though he promised her the heavens.

Slowly, I cut out Alex from the photo and every other picture of him and Ayanna. Tossing him into the burning flame. Then I took the documents that contained Ayanna and Alexander's information.

Ayanna's was something I'd already read before over and over almost a hundred time in the past one year including Alexander. But this time there was new information added to that of Alexander's.

A pregnancy report?  That bastard got his mistress, Kate Williams pregnant. That must be why Ayanna was so upset. This could certainly help me in separating them but the question was why is Ayanna not leaving the man if she knew? Or am I mistaken and she didn't know?

I quickly rose from my chair, moving to the side to dodge grandfather's cane as he snuck up on me.

"Old age has caught up with you. You're not as good as before," I said arranging the documents back in the file as I prepared to leave.

"You think those step- siblings and cousins of yours would let this go if they find out. They would use it against you and even go after her." 

I paused at the door for a second then waved my goodbye at him though his words weighed greatly on my mind.

Nevertheless, they weren't on my focus list for now. I had to teach Alexander Coleman a lesson for doing something so despicable to my beloved.

ALEX 

Kate was pregnant now, I had to speed up my plans to get rid of Ayanna. So I hired a mechanic to tamper with the brakes of her favorite car. I smiled in satisfaction after he was done. The thought that Ayanna would soon be out of my life for good and I can openly be with Kate filled me with immense joy. 

"Babe, it's done. We should celebrate. I'll meet you at the Siren club in an hour."

She replied with a love and thumbsup sticker and I smiled taking one last look glance at Ayanna's car before leaving the garage.

Ayanna wasn't back by the time I left the house though it was dark. She was always absent these days, it's either she has work or a show but there's was always something coming up for her. For some reason I felt an unpleasant feeling gnawing at my insides at the thought. What if she didn't love me like she did before? Ayanna would never go an hour without calling me, now she could even go days. Was I probably just over thinking? Besides I had no feelings for her why should I care.

I shrugged the thought as soon as I reached the club. My lips lifting into a smile at the thought of meeting Kate. I ignored all the women who approached me with flirtatious smiles hoping get a chance with me. 

"Hey pretty boy," a familiar voice yelled from behind me. I whirled in the direction, halting when I spotted Kate on the dance floor moving her body seductively to the loud music. Her gaze met mine and she smile, gesturing at me with two fingers.

There was a huge smile on my face as I strolled forward to meet her, wrapping my arms around her waist and leaning down to kiss her soft lips. 

"You are kissing me so openly aren't you afraid that someone would see us and recognize us?" Kate teased and I looked quickly looked around. 

"Noone is even paying attention to us," I mumbled, pressing my body against hers.  I buried my nose into her hair inhaling her sweet scent. A faint fragrance of honey and lavender lingered on her. For some reason I couldn't help but think of Ayanna at that moment. She also smelled like lavender and honey. Not just that, she and Kate had similar style. The same hair color, even their eyes were the same. One would say it was because they were cousins. Nevertheless Kate was Ayanna's second cousin. Second cousins don't usually look alike this much. 

Perhaps Ayanna was copying Kate. But why would she? It's not as if she knew about my relationship with Kate and was trying to imitate her so I'd like her. 

I snapped out of my thoughts when Kate kissed me. "A penny for you thought my love." 

"Whatelse could I think of when I have you here in my arms." I kissed her cheek then her lips. "Come we should go somewhere more private."  I pulled her to the VIP room i'd booked for us. All the drinks I ordered  were non-alcoholic since Kate was pregnant nevertheless when I picked up a drink to pour for Kate I noticed it contained a great deal of alcohol. 

"What's wrong baby?"

"You can't drink this katty it has alcohol, I'll call the manager right now to change them." 

Kate eyed the drink greedy and pouted but I ignored her, putting a call across to the manager. Soon a knock came from the other side of the door. 

" Mr. Coleman I have your drink," a male voice followed then he walked in right after. 

" Goodday ma'am, sir," he greeted, pushing a drink cart toward us. "Forgive us for the mistake." 

"It's okay. You can leave now."

He bowed his head slightly, turning to leave. My gaze returned to Kate that instant but snapped back to the door when I heard a click sound. The man did not leave instead he locked the door and pulled out a whip.
