Knoxx’s Point of View

I stare at the screen of my phone like it owes me something.

A notification. A single dot. A tiny light. Anything.

But there’s nothing.

Still nothing.

I’ve refreshed my messages five times in the last hour, like some kind of lunatic, as if the act of looking harder might make something appear. Like maybe the problem is me, not the silence. Like maybe she’s there, on the other end, just one second away from answering.

But no. It's the same.

A blank thread.

Unread. Unseen. Unfelt.

I scroll up out of habit, already knowing what I’ll find—dozens of messages with my name stamped underneath. All mine. Sent over the last week. Some careful and soft. Some panicked. Some stupidly hopeful. And the missed calls?

Fifty-three.

  • Secret Billionaire Divorcee   Chapter 270

Caroline’s Point of ViewWhen the door opens, I nearly drop the pen in my hand. It’s ridiculous—I knew he was coming. I was the one who approved the meeting. I was the one who told Mira to send the invite. I’ve had days to prepare, hours to rehearse what I would say, and still… when Knoxx Wayne steps into my office, I feel my breath snag in my throat like I’ve been caught doing something I shouldn’t.He stands in the doorway for a second, just looking. His eyes sweep across the room—not frantic, but searching. Like he’s expecting someone else to be here. Or maybe like he’s hoping this moment will feel different than it does. His gaze lands on me, and it lingers. Not in a flirtatious way. Not the way it used to, back when things were simple and dangerous and too full of heat. This is different. Quiet. Careful. Like he&rs

  • Secret Billionaire Divorcee   Chapter 269

Knoxx’s Point of ViewThe email comes through just past midnight.I almost miss it—my phone vibrates against the arm of the couch so quietly, I think I imagined it. But when I glance over, there it is.Subject: Meeting Request Confirmed – Hill InternationalAttendees: Caroline Hill, Knoxx WayneTime: Tomorrow, 11:30 AMI sit up too fast. The blanket I didn’t realize I’d pulled over myself falls to the floor, but I don’t care. I stare at the screen, heart thudding like it’s trying to catch up to the moment. She said yes. After all the silence. After the wall of unanswered calls, the ignored texts, the meetings that were “unavailable”—this one made it through. She’s going to see me.I close my eyes for a moment and let the reality settle int

  • Secret Billionaire Divorcee   Chapter 267

Caroline’s Point of ViewIt’s been a week since we moved back to the Hill Villa.Seven mornings waking up in a room I used to know. Seven nights where I fall asleep staring at a ceiling I grew up under, wondering how my life managed to loop back to this place. It’s strange—how familiar it all is. The smell of the hallway, the creak of the floorboards near the stairs, the way the light pours into the kitchen at exactly 6:42 AM like it never left. My childhood lives in these walls. And now, so does my exhaustion. The staff is polite, distant. They don’t ask questions. Not about the bags we carried in. Not about the silence that settled around me like fog. Not even when Liam called out “Daddy” in his sleep two nights ago, and I sat at the edge of the bed gripping the sheets like they were the only things holding me together.I should feel re

  • Secret Billionaire Divorcee   Chapter 266

Caroline’s Point of ViewWhen I open the door, my heart sinks before I even fully see him.Adrian.His frame fills the doorway like a shadow. There’s no softness to him today—no practiced smile, no patient tone. Just a hard stare and the unmistakable tension in his shoulders, the kind of tension that says this isn’t going to end quietly. He looks past me almost immediately. And God knows how much that look start to terrify me now. It feels like it will shake me every moment.I see his jaw tighten when he catches sight of the boxes stacked near the living room—half-packed, messy, real. Evidence I didn’t have time to hide. His eyes narrow, as if analyzing what is going on and then his eyes flick back to mine, and they’re darker now. Less human.“What is this?” he says, stepping forward.

  • Secret Billionaire Divorcee   Chapter 265

Caroline’s Point of ViewThe second I lock the front door behind me, I want to cry.Liam runs ahead of me into the apartment, his tiny feet slapping against the floor, the sound echoing through the quiet like it’s trying to fill the space that’s already collapsing in my chest. He tosses his toy onto the couch and climbs up beside it, humming the same off-key tune he always does.I envy him for that.I stand in the hallway for a moment longer, hand still on the door, forehead leaning against the wood. The weight of tonight clings to my shoulders like a wet coat I can’t peel off. I don’t want to move. I don’t want to think. And I sure as hell don’t want to deal with the man who’s been calling me nonstop since we left the office parking lot.My phone vibrates again in my bag.I don’t need to look. I already know it’s Adrian.Again.I walk into the kitchen and toss my bag onto the counter, letting the strap dangle off the edge. The clinking of my keys against the marble makes me flinch. E
